Chapter Six

"I think we found the wolfsbane.” Anisa said. “Is that what it looks like? That’s a weed.” Medusa said. “Yeah, I heard about that.” Anisa said and walked closer. All of a sudden she felt something was very wrong. She turned around slowly and saw werewolves closing in but not coming closer than they were. “Hi guys, so here’s what’s going to happen. You lot get lost and leave me to my business and I won’t kill you.” Anisa said with a clear warning in her voice. “Who the hell do you think you are? We are the southern tribe of blue. We will rip you to shreds with little effort. Now run along little kitty.” Said the leader.

“Anastasia…RUN! They will kill you!” Persephone screamed. “Mama no! I will not leave you!” Anisa screamed back. She felt a burn and looked down to see that one of the werewolves bit her right on the upper leg and it was bleeding badly. A few moments later the wound healed and she hit the ground running towards Persephone and ripped one of the wolves to pieces. “Stay away from my family!” Anisa roared still holding on to some of the ripped parts of a werewolf. She heard some of them howling in pain but they did not dare come close. “Get away from my town and leave these people be, or I will rip each and every one of you to pieces like your friend here.” Anisa howled in a demonic voice. With that the werewolves ran as fast as they could.

Anisa’s eyes changed and flickered with desire. The wolf pack in front of her looked confused. “Mama? Is that really you?” The one asked her. She recognized his voice and let out a howl of pain so powerful all of the werewolves turned and laid down on the ground. She looked at Medusa and gave her final howl and the wolf pack jumped ready to fight. “Anisa, it’s me! How is this even possible? How are you werewolf?” Medusa cried in horror.

“I’ll deal with my pack; you get out of here as fast as you can. I will not be able to stop the change any longer. RUN!” Anisa howled in pain again. Medusa ran as fast as her legs could carry her. “Now, I want to challenge your Alpha.” Anisa growled in her werewolf form. “I accept you half-breed.” He challenged. “Let’s fight than, to the death…” Anisa mocked. “You will pay for this half-breed!” He growled and launched for her. She was just too fast for this wolf pup. She bit him and carried him to the corner like a little pup. He broke free and launched for her again, this time he got a hold of her front paw and bit his best bite drawing blood. Anisa howled in delight.

She bit the pup again and made him submit. With that the fight was over. The rest of the wolves looked at her still waiting for the final blow. It never came. “Finish him!” They growled. “No! He is but a pup, much like some of you. I will not take his life for mere sports.” Anisa growled back causing them all to be quiet and sit like good pups. The wounded pup crawled slowly towards Anisa. “He had no right to be alpha; he is just a scared little pup… Do you accept defeat?” Anisa asked eyeing the pup. “Yes…Alpha.” He dropped his head and wined lightly.

“Good. Pups get his wounds cleaned and dressed. I will call for you as the sun comes up. We will put an end to all this death once and for all. Vampires and Werewolves will know there place amongst the rest of the creatures. This is how things will be from now on, even if I have to see to it myself.” Anisa said and shape changed back into human form. “Mama?” Said the familiar voice again. “Lucian? My boy is that really you?” Anisa asked. “Yes mama, I have missed you so much.” Lucian said with tears in his handsome face.

 “Where is your father? Did he…?” Anisa asked and felt tears sting her eyes. “He didn’t make it that night; he saved us from that demon. In his dying breathe he said to find you no matter how long that would take. I promised him that I will not take over as Alpha till I have found you mama.” Lucian said and hugged Anisa. “I am so sorry I missed you growing up my sweet little pup. I loved your father dearly and he knew that I will not be able to stay longer than the pregnancy. He promised me that he would keep you and Kyle safe as best he could. Where is your brother?” Anisa asked.

Lucian lowered his head. “He went after the ones who attacked us that night but we never saw him again.” Lucian said with tears running down his cheek. “We will find him Lucian. I need to find my friends and wait till sunrise before we can do anything. There are vampires in these walls. They will not rest till they have me. You must leave with the pack while there is still time. I will not have them taking you as well.” Anisa said. “Yes mama.” Lucian said. “Listen up pups. Lucian is my Omega. He will be as acting Alpha while I am gone. Do you understand?” Anisa said. “Yes Alpha.” The pack howled. “Good, now quickly get out of here.” Anisa said.

It didn’t take long for her pack to leave unnoticed. She felt the shadow’s eyes on her back again. “Enjoying the view?” Anisa tossed over her shoulder. “How do you always do that? The shadow asked. “I can feel it when people stare at me, it’s quit unnerving.” Anisa said and stood up. Would you mind getting me a shirt and pants?” Anisa asked the shadow and felt him scanning her naked body. “Of course.” He said and vanished. When he reappeared he brought her some clothes from the office.

“Thank you.” She said and got dressed. “How did you hide the fact that you are a werewolf?” The shadow asked. “I had a flashback of the first fight I had with a pack of werewolves. I remembered earning the title Alpha a long time ago. I also remembered I had two boys. One of them went missing 50 years ago while the other one was too young to run as Alpha. Lucian told me his father died in that attack on my tribe. For some reason I can only remember now.” Anisa said as she walked next to the man dressed in black.

“I am so sorry to hear about that. You said that Kyle was missing for the last 50 years. Do you have any way of finding him?” He asked. Anisa noticed that she never mentioned her eldest son’s name. She pretended that she didn’t notice. “I might have a way.” She said and waited till they got back to her office. After closing the door, Medusa ran and crashed into Anisa, not letting go for one moment. “I am not going to ask you a bunch of unnecessary questions. However I do need to ask, how are you feeling?” Medusa asked. “I’m fine, can you please let go?” Anisa asked.

“Oh, sorry…” Medusa said shyly. “Thank you. Ok so I remembered a few things while we stood in front of the wolfsbane. I was there with you when you were cursed. You were still in tears when I saw you and offered you some food and water.” Anisa said. “Y-you? That was you?” Medusa asked. But how...?” She started. “I am the daughter of Eros and Psyche. I am also part Vampire as well as Werewolf. I’m not sure if I truly have immortality but I am sure someone might have answers for me. I need to find out if the father of my children survived that night.” Anisa said deep in thought.

“Sorry for me asking but how old are you then?” Medusa asked. “My dear I believe we are the same age. Born in the same year.” Anisa said. “I was not expecting that. Do you remember how we used to play in the river close to the temple?” Medusa asked smiling. “Yes I do remember that. That’s where you first caused a man to turn to stone.” Anisa said with a slight giggle. “Yeah, I didn’t mean to do that.” Medusa said very shyly. “I know, I know. Well he was looking for trouble so he got what he was looking for.” Anisa said and laughed.

“I think it’s time that you explain yourself. How did you know my eldest son’s name?” Anisa asked the man dressed in black. She could feel her eyes burning gold and green. He shuddered and looked to her directly. Anisa’s heart dropped. “Luke! I thought you died that night!” Anisa exclaimed and rushed over to him. He returned the hug and held her close. “I am so sorry my love; I could not tell you before you remembered the boys. I have missed you with every fiber of my being for so long. The only way I could make sure you are safe was to speak to your aunt. She refused to let me speak to you directly so I visited your dreams as much as I could.” Luke said and looked at her more closely.
