The shadow laughed and said: “I will give you the locations of the items, but you will have to retrieve them on your own. Oh and please do not break any of the items…” ‘What’s that suppose to mean?’ She thought. She nodded and in a flash she saw an old map on her deck with a language she knew but didn’t know how she knew. “If you can understand what is written you will be fine, if you do not…” The shadow’s voice trailed off but the warning is very clear.
Anisa nodded again and went in search of the first item on the map, careful not to let Victor or that woman or anyone for that matter see her with the map. There was something very odd about the map but she couldn’t put her finger on it. She followed the map to the attic. The moment she read what the map said she could see a red and black orb but something was very wrong. The red light of the orb darted directly for her and she knew if the light touched her skin she would be frozen and burning all at the same time.
She quickly got out of the way and grabbed a dusty old black fabric and shielded herself from the light. ‘Light cannot pass through a solid object.’ She thought. For a moment the red light stopped as to not “seeing” anything. ‘This might just work.’ She thought. One the one hand she knew the orb that tried to destroy her was the one she needed. ‘How do I know all of this?’ she thought.
She moved closer to the orb and wrapped the dusty fabric around the orb and placed it into her bag. After securing the orb she heard footsteps coming her way so she hid under a table with her feet pulled up of the floor. The footsteps stopped right in front of her and this person moved so fast she thought she just imagined it. That’s right when this person moved to the other part of the attic in such a speed she felt dizzy.
“Nothing in here sir, I would have sensed if something with a heart beat was in here…” Said a man’s voice. I have eyes on her down in the lobby. Said another man over the radio. “Keep a close eye on her. If she finds out what we really are, I fear something very unexpected will happen and not for the good of the clan.” Victor said. “When do you want to turn her sir?” Said a man close to Victor. “Before sunrise.” Victor said. Shivers ran down her spine. ‘WHAT THE HELL?’ She thought in horror. ‘What kind of monsters are these guys?’ She thought but somehow still kept her heart rate so slow and soft that she couldn’t even feel it.
“Sir I do need to ask. What would happen if she manages to get a hold of the fire lilies…?” The man’s voice trailed off. “Do be quite you i***t… If she finds those fire lilies before we do then that will be the end of us. I need her turned before sunrise… Make sure she doesn’t find those fire lilies.” Victor said in a very furious and demanding voice. “Yes sir.” Said the man and vanished.
“Where are you my little lamb? I have waited a thousand years for you but you never came to me. I really do hope that you are here; I wish to only be with you. You are the only one who can safe what is left of my soul…” Victor howled. Still in shock Anisa grabbed hold of a golden coin and tossed it as hard she could manage into the opposite direction. There was a loud crash and in a blur Victor vanished.
With the coast clear she made her way to where the map said the fire lilies where. She found them with not much effort but made the mistake by touching on of the leaves. It burned bright red and orange where it touched her skin. Intense pain shot up her arm and down her leg. Paralyzed from pain in a moment she could hear the men were coming closer to her. With all the strength she could muster she summoned herself back to her office. When she opened her eyes she stood in the middle of her office with 2 of the items the shadow had told her about.
She couldn’t believe her eyes as to what she had done just moment before. “I was not expecting that…” Said the shadow. “How did you do that my dear?” The shadow asked amazed. I don’t know, what the hell is happening to me? She pressed the thought into the mind of the shadow. This is unusual. You have the gift of Athena, but how? The show pressed into her mind. What gift? And who the hell is Athena? She pressed and crossed her arms over her chest. “The better question will be who the hell are you and why have you kept your power a secret?” The shadow snapped.
“As if I had any idea of this earlier…” She spat realizing too late that she spoke to the shadow aloud. “You spoke to me… RUN!” The shadow screamed and Anisa bolted for the door. She felt something in her bag and took out the orb and reviled it. The moment the light hit the now forming monster with 3 heads the light turned blue and calmed him down. “You found it…” He said and turned back to shadow. She grabbed a paper and pen and wrote: Will I be able to speak to you while this orb is in here or will you turn into the pet of hulk again?
“Who is hulk? And what do you mean his pet?” The shadow asked. She pointed at the note again annoyed. “While the orb is in your possession it will remain blue and help keep me calm. So yes you will be able to speak to me without me turning into…that.” He said. “Alright. Where do you think this has to go?” She asked. “On the deck; over there. Did you find the fire lilies?” He asked. “Yes I have and they burned me earlier, I nearly forgot about that.” Anisa said and looked at her arms where the lilies burned her.
“It burned you? Yet you did not die? What color was the flame?” The shadow asked. “Yes it burned me. It was the worst pain I ever felt in my entire life. The flames were bright red and orange. Why do you ask?” Anisa asked. “That makes no sense; I thought the bloodline died decades ago… Had I known you held the blood of gods…” The shadow started. “We can talk about that later, for now I need to retrieve the rest of the items on the list, is there any other items I need to keep myself unnoticed from any form of gods?” Anisa asked.
“Yes, you must look for the cloak Zeus gave Eros. I do not know of the cloak’s location.” The shadow said with a hint of sadness in his voice. “Ok, we’ll figure it out later, for now I need your assistance finding the rest of the items.” Anisa said with a small smile but very determined. “As you wish, my lady.” The shadow said. “Please just call me Anisa.” She said. “Very well, Anisa.” The shadow said.
