CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 2008 3:19pm Nineteen Years Ago “The coolest part is the map. It can keep growing as you move toward new places. It took a bit to figure it out, but now that it’s working it seems so simple.” Marcus always talked like this. Mike sometimes wondered why he even hung around with him. “Basically,” Marcus droned on, “I sample the locations around the place the player is trying to go and I blend the characteristics of those tiles to create the new one.
