Mike shook in terror and dropped his own heavy sword as the light above him disappeared behind the massive shape of the thing. He stretched for the sword and crawled deeper into the crevice. He squirmed to avoid the blade as it stabbed down into the small space, burying its point in the soil collecting between the stones. The sound of steel on stone was tremendous, ringing in Mike’s ears. He turned to explore the crevice he was wedged in. Light glimmered from an opening he would never fit through. He was trapped. Another stab of the massive sword inched closer to Mike’s body. Z was trying every angle to reach his prey. He was methodical, but rabid. The jabs were powerful but not precise.
