Miranda sensed that Lawrence wasn't genuinely interested in the piano. After their discussion last night, he said the lessons would start today, but he went back to the company early this morning without specifying when he would return.
"Miss Larson, your finger bones are healing and need to remain immobilized. Make sure to rest so that you can fully recover," the family doctor advised Miranda during her follow-up.

Miranda looked at her injured fingers, which had not fully healed for a long time, and realized she was receiving the best treatment at the Dawson family.
Although she didn't understand why Lawrence wanted to learn the piano, she was determined to teach him well in gratitude.
