She slumped on her chair in getting to her office holding her hair tightly in her fists. I'm done It's over Those were the words age kept muttering to herself. How was she going to keep working with him after all she had done? Aria, you're done for, she said to herself putting on her coat. She dragged her feet to the kitchen to prepare a light but nutritious breakfast for her new boss hoping to impress him. Her job was to plan out the meal and prepare it herself hence the payment she was to be paid. The other kitchen staff were to focus on the rest of the employees by preparing their meals which were to be served at the company's canteen. She brought out her chart and decided on Egg Benedict and coffee. She had gone through his medical chart prior to her resumption, she was to update herself with his medical records, likes and dislikes as well as his allergies. Few minutes later, she was in front of Asher's office with a food tray in her hand, she sighed deeply, preparing herself to go in. Luckily,Ana opened the door from inside. He's waiting, she said, walking past Aria to her table. Here's your breakfast Sir, Egg Benedict which consists of English muffins cut in half, toasted, and topped with bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, Aria said, setting out the food on the mini table in front of Asher. “I'll be back to clear your table” she said, making her way to the door. And who's going to answer my questions? Asher asked, picking up a muffin. He dug his teeth into it, taking a bite, and nodded his head in satisfaction. “As my personal nutritionist, you should make sure I eat unless you want me to collapse again which won't be good for you” Asher said while eating the rest of his muffin. Aria took a seat opposite him and watched him work,he didn't touch the rest of he food. She wondered if that was all he would have. Ten minutes passed, and he barely touched the plate again. “I already had coffee this morning so freshly squeezed orange juice would be great, thanks” he said firmly and resumed working. Aria rolled her eyes and got up,leaving with the dishes that contained his leftovers. Asher smirked wickedly. He hadn't had any coffee yet. We have no fresh oranges in the store, the kitchen head chef said after Aria requested for fresh oranges. So who do you call when you don't have supplies? She asked the woman who looked clearly uninterested in Aria’s business. We actually have supplies for the month, we just didn't include oranges because we won't be needing them, she replied. But I need them, like right now,Aria demanded which didn't sit well with the head chef. How about you take yourself down to the supermarket and get yourself fresh oranges, I've got lunch to prepare, the head chef said and walked away. Aria groaned as she picked up her bag and left for the nearest grocery store. Almost two hours passed before Aria was back to the executive floor with a bottle of fresh orange juice, Ana shook her head upon sighting her and sighed. You're late, she said as Aria was about to open the door, the door flung open from the inside. I brought your freshly squeezed orange juice Sir, Aria said, raising up the bottle. You're late Miss Gonzales, he said walking away from her while Ana followed him, carrying her bag, a tablet and some documents. And the juice? Aria asked, Asher replied with a wave of his hand. Furious isn't enough to describe what she felt as she watched them step into the elevator. Couldn't he have had it on the way? She pulled her hair as she slumped on her seat thinking about what she had gone through in just half a day at work. Clearly, there's more to come, she said to herself. Aria passed out in her bed immediately after she got home. She couldn't even stop by her mother's bookstore on her way home, she was tired. She was on her way out when Ana sent a message to prepare dinner for Asher and three of his business associates who were coming over for a late meeting. She had to handle all of it preparation alone as the kitchen staff refused to help out, saying it wasn't part of their job. Salad, steak and potatoes and then apple pie was perfectly laid out on the dining table for the businessmen, although she was wearing a smile but her feet were killing her. Delicious, thank you, one of the men appreciated her after they were done with their meal. Perfecto, the Italian looking man complimented too. This made her tiredness almost vanished. At least, some people had the decency to appreciate a good job. You can leave, Asher said as he checked the time. Thank you gentlemen, I'll take my leave now, have a wonderful night, she said and went back to her office. She picked up her bag and phone before leaving the building. What a first day, she said, leaning her head on the bus window which took her to her destination. Her phone rang while she was going through some meal plan in her office, the caller read ‘the witch’. How may I help you Ana?she said after picking up. He's hungry, she said and hung up. Aria groaned and wondered when Asher became a big eater. This is your fourth meal today Sir, she said while placing a box of Wagyu burger and a bottle of apple juice on his table. Do you have a problem with that? He asked without looking up. Not at all, just making sure you're fine, Aria said and sat down. What's for dinner? Asher asked after taking a bite of his burger. “Salad. “Just salad? “Yes,just salad. “Why? “It’s what's next on your meal plan," Aria said without batting an eyelid. At least, add some chicken,Asher said, sipping his juice. You’ve had enough calories for today, you should burn them out,so salad only it is, Aria replied with a tight smile. These past few days have been quite peaceful, no returned meals or sudden requests to prepare a large quantity of meals. The kitchen staff kept to themselves not wanting to get involved with her and she returned the gesture by realizing quickly that she was all by herself without help. This helped her in getting things done on time. She prepared ingredients for the next meal beforehand immediately she was done with the previous meal to save time. Asher was picky on some days, which could be frustrating but she always gets over it. She cleared the table and made her way out of his office. Took you so much time, Ana sneered. Time to do what? Aria questioned, but of course she understood her clearly. I'll tell you what, Miss Chef, Asher's mine and I'll do anything to get the likes of you away from him, so stick to preparing his meals and I won't have to do anything messy, she warned Aria. Is that a threat? Aria asked Call it whatever,Ana fired back angrily Aria shook her head and walked away, she wasn't going to stand there and trade words with her. She wasn't here either for Asher's attention or whatnot, she came to work and earn money, nothing more. Although Asher is good looking, his personality wasn't what Aria sought after in a man. Warm, kind and compassionate are the things she always looked for in a man and Asher Grey was far away from all of those things.
