“Do you know where Nick is? He disappeared last night. Alisha hardly saw him this morning and, when it was time for the brunch, I saw him long enough for him to clean his plate and then he disappeared again,” one woman said to Natalie.
I knew I shouldn’t have, but I hid behind a large hedge and listened.
“I noticed the same thing,” another woman said. “I asked Alisha what was going on, but she couldn’t give me a straight answer.”
“Do you think it has to do with that other girl?” the first woman questioned.
“I don’t know. Maybe. Is Alisha worried about her?” the second woman asked curiously.
“Wait.” This time Natalie spoke. “What other girl?”
