We walked up to the door, where two other girls were standing and giggling about something. Susie knocked on the door. Without hesitation, the door swung open and revealed a maid who pointed us in the direction where music was playing and loud laughter resounded.
We walked down a lengthy hallway, which opened into a fancy den with couches and chairs. There was a huge table filled with every snack and treat imaginable. The back wall was covered by French doors that opened to the rear patio, where most of the party was gathered.
There was a bunch of people from my class that I recognized but had no interest in talking to. I immediately felt uncomfortable and wanted to head over to the snack table. Kylee and Susie found their usual group and rushed over to talk to them. Lily stood by me.
