“Uh, Rosie, what are you doing?” Lily asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, you look like you’ve seen a ghost,” Troy piped in.
“Oh no, this person is alive and quite well,” I said sarcastically and the two of them looked at me quizzically.
“Rose, who did you see?” Lily asked, gazing casually around the room.
who“You would never guess,” I muttered and pressed fingers to my temples as I felt a headache coming on.
“Okay, now I have to know.” Troy peered around the booth and, groaned, “I can’t see anyone we know. Especially not like this.”
“Rosie, will you just tell us who it was you saw?” Lily asked pointedly, clearly impatient.
“Fine.” I took a deep breath and whispered, “It was Nick.”
“What!” Lily’s eyes grew wide and searched the restaurant more aggressively.
