Chapter 3 A MATE Juliana woke up and found herself in an unfamiliar environment. She was lying on a soft bed in a small room, She quickly sat up and searched for her surroundings, only to see the man that had rescued her earlier, “I see the princess is now awake”. The man walked towards her and handed her a glass of water, “Where am I?” Juliana asked, hesitating to take the water, ‘Ouch, no, thank you or at least what's your name to the man that saved you?” The man pretended to be hurt as he pressed his hand on his chest, Now that Juliana was really looking at him, he looked very familiar. She was certain she had seen him somewhere before but didn't know where. “Trying to figure out where you have seen me before? Face, Come on, a face like mine is hard to forget” and he was right, the man was perfection itself, his long blonde hair was tied up, every feature on his face perfect, his blue eyes, the pointed nose. He was just breathtakingly handsome. “Where?” She asked with raised eyebrows, “My name is Leon Dante” he introduced himself, bringing forth his hand. “Leon Dante?, like Dante?” Juliana was left speechless, “How is this even possible?” She asked in disbelief. Leon Dante was one of the richest men on earth. Everyone knew of him or had at least heard his name. Him coming to her rescue from those creatures that killed her family was surreal. “How?” Juliana repeated her question. “How?. Well, you could say lady luck is on your side” he said with a smirk as he took a seat on the edge of the bed, Juliana ran her hands in her hair, “Do you have a phone?” She suddenly asked. Leon was surprised for a second. “A phone?” He asked, “Yes, please” she said. Leon handed her his phone, which she immediately began to press. A moment of silence passed as she raised the phone holding it next to his face. She had googled his pictures. “Jesus, you really are Leon Dante, wow!” Juliana exclaimed in disbelief. “What are you? You literally jumped over that tall fence where I was being held and that woman, she did something that made me fall asleep. What are you people?” She asked, “Well, we are people just like you. The man that killed your parents and fiancé is Louis. He won't stop until he finds you, so we have to get moving”, Leon said, standing up. “I'm not going anywhere until you explain to me what the hell is happening. Today was my wedding day. It was a special day for me. Why,,, why did he kill everyone?” Leon let out a sign as he grabbed her hand, forcing her to stand up immediately. She did. She felt a sharp pain in her stomach, making her fall to her knees. Leon was quick to leave her, “Are you okay?” There was a look of genuine concern on his face, “It's the baby, I need to go to the hospital” she murmured, remembering how that man had pushed her to the floor. The baby might have gotten hurt by the impact. “We can't, Louis will find us”. Leon said. “I don't want to lose my baby. Please help me”, a tear fell down Juliana's face, which he quickly whipped, “Stay here, let me get someone who might help you” he said. He carried her to the bed softly and made her lay down. “I will be back shortly” he said. Juliana nodded and watched as he left the room. “Elizabeth!” Leon called, the red-haired woman appeared right next to me. “I was having a nap” she said, irritated. “She is the one… I felt her, she really is the one” he said excitedly, touching Elizabeth’s shoulders. The woman simply rolled her eyes. “I don't know s**t about mate bonds or whatever, but if we don't move, Louis might be just one step away and, trust me, I will abandon you if it comes to that” she warned him. “No you won't, but if you try, I will haunt you, and you know what I will do to you when that happens”, Leon said with a stern expression. Elizabeth looked away. “What do you want me to do?” She asked with a sign “She is sick, it's that thing she is carrying inside of her. I want you to get rid of it” he ordered, “She is already far gone. She might lose her life. Not that I care, but I am telling you just to because that ends up happening.” “Wait!” Leon was quiet for a while. “The prophecy was correct, she is my mate, there is nothing about the baby so maybe she was meant to lose it. She will survive” he said thoughtfully. “Are you ready to risk her life?” Elizabeth asked before a smirk appeared on her face, “I'm guessing that's a yes. Fine then, let me get to work”. Elizabeth disappeared and appeared a few minutes later. “Two drops of this in her food or drink and the baby will be gone” she made a gesture with her hand and disappeared. Leon went into the little kitchen. He hated such tiny places, he began to make a quick meal while making a phone call, A few seconds later, the man he was calling answered the call. “Leon” he said, “I got the girl” he said, “Good job, where are you?” The man asked. “At the cabin in the countryside, I couldn't think of a better hiding place” he said. “Meet me at the ranch, and Leon, whatever you do, don't let Louis get the girl.” “I won't”, Leon replied as he hung up the call. How could he let Louis take her away when he had for the first felt something he had never felt his entire long years of existence in He was going to do everything in his power to make sure she never left his side. At this point, he didn't care about the other half of the prophecy that said she was going to be his and Louis’s doom….
