Jasmine's POV
After Xavier and Zoe explained everything, I understood. I hadn't expected Xavier to be without a past. I knew he had one. Lunar and I were still a little raw about it, but given the circumstances, I chose to let it go. If he had been unfaithful, I would feel it through the bond. All I felt was his love — and that was enough. I wasn't thrilled about Zoe, but as long as she kept her distance from my mate, I would tolerate her presence.
"How do you feel?" Xavier asked as I stayed nestled against him.
My face went warm. I knew exactly what he meant.
"I'm okay," I told him. The hot bath had taken most of the soreness away.
"Good. I'll start on today's work. You go to the kitchen and get breakfast — I'll find you soon," he said, kissing me softly.
