I knew Jasmine was unsettled by the nickname, but her face gave nothing away. I felt her fury — and then, strangely, a calm I couldn't account for settled over her, and her expression went completely blank. I couldn't read her at all. Then Harmon made her comment about Zoe, and I corrected it, because I knew it was harmless. I thought I saw Jasmine almost smile — and then she stood up and let me feel everything through the bond, all at once, before slamming it shut in my face.
