The man's groan came from the other end of the phone. He would always talk to her in this tone. Shirley could no longer guess whether he was angry or not.
"Why would you go to a place like that?" His words were full of disgust, and she confirmed her guess in her heart. This club was indeed not what she had thought it would be at the beginning.
"I..." She bit her lip hard, but Wendy's voice sounded outside the door again.
"Young lady, what's going on? Have you changed your clothes?"
If Shirley didn't go out now, she would be exposed. She lowered her voice and said, "Charlie, come and save me. Please."
She hung up the phone quickly and stared at the dress in her hand for a second. With a slight push of her slightly pale fingertips, she tore a small c***k in the dress of poor quality.
She took the dress and opened the door shakily.
Seeing the girl in front of her still wearing her previous clothes, Wendy's face changed instantly. "Young lady, didn't I tell you to change your clothes? What's going on now?"
Shirley could only try to stall for time. She hoped that Charlie would not leave her alone.
"Wendy." She did her best to suppress the panic in her heart. Putting on a smile, she said coolly, "I tried to put it on but it's wrecked. I should wear another one."
She handed the dress to Wendy, who examined it carefully and then looked at her suspiciously. "Okay, go get another one."
Shirley smiled as she picked up a random outfit, then walked in. The moment she closed the door, her legs went soft. Her palms were sweating and sticky, and she felt cold in her heart.
This time, she made up her mind to hide in the room and not go out. She had to deal with Wendy until Charlie arrived to save her.
"Are you done, young lady?" Wendy knocked on the door again. She clearly sounded impatient.
Shirley panted loudly. She hugged her knees and squatted down, not letting herself make a single sound.
Wendy got really anxious. "Young lady, you don't want to do it the hard way, do you? I trust you."
While she was cursing outside, Shirley was so scared that tears streamed down her cheeks.
"I'll get someone to knock the door open right now. See how I'll deal with you later." Wendy's voice grew smaller and smaller. She must have gone out to look for her people.
Shirley had always been well-behaved and obedient, but now she was hiding in a narrow changing room, shivering in fear.
However, even though the time was almost up, Wendy had not brought her men over.
Shirley was panic-stricken and confused, waiting for Wendy or Charlie to appear.
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound from outside. It seemed that many people had come all of a sudden. Shirley got agitated again and she did not dare to move.
She picked up her ears and listened carefully to the noises outside.
"Ms. Smith," Wendy said.
Shirley bit her lower lip and did not dare to make a sound.
"Ms. Smith, please come out quickly. It's all my fault. Please forgive me. I'm so sorry."
Shirley was stunned and confused. She had squatted there for a long time and her legs were numb.
Wendy was still chattering outside, but Shirley just kept quiet. She was afraid that Wendy was deliberately tricking her.
"Ms. Smith, I'm begging you. Please come out quickly."
"What's going on?" A man's voice suddenly sounded.
Shirley was shocked. She covered her mouth and did not dare to make a sound.
"Mr. Jones... There's, there's nothing I could do. She's not willing to come out," said Wendy.
Mr. Jones? Shirley became more and more agitated. This matter has blown up so much that even a higher-up has come over.
"Ms. Smith, don't be afraid. I'm Mr. Jones and I'm a manager here. My men failed to recognize you and they didn't know you. Don't be afraid. I'll ask them to apologize to you."
Shirley was shocked and didn't come to her senses for a long time.
"Ms. Smith, are you alright?"
Shirley gritted her teeth. After a moment of hesitation, she covered her chest and said carefully, "I'm not wearing that."
"If you don't want to wear that, you won't need to wear it. Please come out now."
Shirley was not stupid. She had a faint guess that maybe Charlie had come over, but why hadn't she heard his voice? She did not open the door, but pretended to be calm and asked, "Is... is Charlie here?"
"Mr. Johnson is not here. He only called and asked us to take care of you."
Shirley's heart, which had been hanging by a thread, suddenly relaxed. As expected, it was because of Charlie that she was now well treated. It seemed that his title was quite effective. She suddenly felt grateful to him.
Opening the door, she endured the pain in her numb legs and slowly walked out.
It was not until then that she saw that many people were standing in the already narrow and dark changing room. She stared at her toes and felt uneasy.
The man standing in the front was full of smiles. "Ms. Smith, I'm truly sorry. This is all a misunderstanding. They didn't recognize you. Please don't lower yourself to their level."
Shirley shook her head and remained silent.
"Ms. Smith, it's all my fault. I must apologize to you. I'm so sorry." Wendy also stood up and lowered her head, looking frightened.
Shirley's gaze swept over her indifferently and did not speak.
"Ms. Smith, come upstairs with me for a cup of tea," Mr. Jones said tentatively.
Shirley shook her head and said with a pale face, "I want to leave."
"Okay, okay. I'll get someone to prepare a car for you. I'll definitely send you home safely," said Mr. Jones.
Shirley did not speak. She lowered her head and continued walking out.
The crowd automatically made way for her.
Before she could go out, she was suddenly blocked by a tall figure. She was shocked and looked up to meet Charlie's eyes.
His eyes were cold. With just a quick glance, he looked away from her.
"Mr. Johnson, you are here. I, I... I'll ask someone to get a private room for you so you can have a good rest." When Mr. Jones saw Charlie, he hurried over.
Charlie's face was expressionless. He glanced at everyone present with a grim expression and then said coldly, "Well, nothing happened to my sister today. If something did happen, you would not afford to pay for it."
His voice was extremely cold.
Mr. Jones was so scared that he could not speak.
Shirley was standing behind Charlie. She raised her head and looked at him in a daze.
Unexpectedly, he suddenly turned around.
She hurriedly looked away.
He reached out to grab her arm and said in a cold voice, "Let's go."
