Chapter Twenty-SixEverything is not fine. After Mum, Dad and Jenna didn’t answer their phones, I had to distract myself. I took Roscoe for a long walk, fed him, tidied my room, did some homework and still no news. I made myself some beans on toast, had a shower… still nothing. It’s around 7 pm when the front door opens. ‘I know, I know, I’m sorry,’ are the first words out of Dad’s mouth before pouring himself a glass of something that looked and smells gross. ‘What the hell’s been happening?’ I demand. ‘I rang you about a thousand times!’ ‘I know. Sorry.’ He takes a sip. ‘Not much signal at the hospital.’ The hospital. My stomach flips. I knew it. I bloody knew it. ‘Your sister’s had a funny few days, worse than usual. Not sure if you’ve noticed?’ I feel a surge of guilt run through me
