Chapter Twenty-NineToday’s the day: the Hospice Day. Daisy’s not grounded anymore, Callum doesn’t have any plans, and we’re all prepared to go. I’ve got my notebook, Daisy’s got her voice recorder, Callum’s got… well, Callum’s more moral support. I make my way up the hill outside school and go over the route in my head: left, down to Parsons Green, cross the road, past the dentist… ‘Oi!’ The voice sounds familiar, but I can’t place exactly who it is. I ignore it anyway; everyone’s rushing out of school. They’re probably speaking to someone else. ‘Oi!’ I turn around this time. Oh, brilliant. It’s an Ape.
