*Chapter One*

“SIGAN, SIGAN!” Mother cries from my doorway  “SIGAN VIOLET HOWARD” screaming at the top of her lungs loud enough for me to yank one of my airpods out of my ear

“YES MOTHER!’ annoyance flashes in ym violet eyes as I whip around in my computer chair quickly

“I have been trying to tell you that your father is home and dinner is ready” her icy blue eyes agitated with me “Be down in five minutes or I will change the locks and add a ward to it” walking away silently

Rolling my eyes, I end the game I was working on and walk downstairs to the dining room where my mother and father were sitting for dinner

“Sigan my dear” my father says walking towards me and places a kiss on my head “My beautiful daughter” running his thumb over my cheek

“Hello father” accepting his moment of affection and sits in my seat at the table “Mother nodding my head respectfully as I cut into the meatloaf

“So Sigan” Mother says after I have taken a slice of meatloaf “Tell us how are you and Silus?” taking a scoop of mashed potato and setting it on her plate

“If you wanna ask if he is interested in me. Well you might wanna ask him yourself” taking the mashed potatoes from her

“we have” father says drinking form his wine goblet

“As have his parents” mother says as a  knock come from the front door “They are joining us for dinner tonight” walking towards the door her black cardigan flowing behind her

Sighing I follow behind her closing my jacket and feeling stupid about my outfit “Why didn’t you tell em we where having company? I would have put on a blouse and shoes instead of tank tops and socks” sarcasm dripping in my voice

“Sigan, my daughter, because Silus and his family are familiar with you as you are right now”

“Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Howard” Silus says his icy blue eyes reading mines a small smirk playing on his face “Sigan” walking towards me and takes my knuckles in his hands and kisses them slowly as we walk back towards the  dinner table

“So, Victoria tell us how are you going to persuade the council about passing this curfew?” Serenity says

“Can we save the politics for Thanksgiving? Silus says bored as I stifle a laugh earning a small smile on Silus face.

“Yes, my dear Silus do tell what do you think of dear Sigan there? Would you mate her or maybe keep her at friendship status I’m pretty sure she is your fancy” His mother says leaning on one of her arms looking at him with her blue eyes sparkling

“I have thought about making Sigan my mate, but it is solely up to her. I don’t want her to stop her life for me” smiling and taking my hand in his and smiles placing a sweet kiss on my cheek as I blush
