After saying that, Manon went to get some of her necessary accessories before leaving, and the birthday party continued.

Coming out of the Malcolm mansion, the cold air touching her skin made her realize how cruel this world can be. She must have thought wrong this year, thinking she finally got a family. She actually didn't have any problem with being a substitute, if only...

They really loved her, but it ended all the affection she had accumulated for the Malcolm, which was now in vain. It really hurts, but what can she do? At least she finally knows on which ground she's standing now.

She was about to order an Uber when a car pulled up in front of her. Seeing the flashy car, she knew exactly who was inside. The window slid down, and a deep, magnetic voice came in contact with her earbuds.

"Get in," Carlos said.

Manon got distracted for a second before replying, "Thank you, Mr. Williams, but I think I'm good on my own. Oh, by the way, thanks for standing up for me earlier. Here, take the hair clip back; I'm not really worthy of it."

Manon said all this in one go as she unclipped the hair clip from her hair and stretched her hand to give it to Carlos. But his looks were very icy, and Manon didn't need to be told twice before she got into the car.

"Where to, sir?" Carlos' driver asked.

"Star Villa," Carlos replied

"Mr. Williams, you don't have to worry about me. I really don't need your help right now," Manon tried the second approach, but it seemed like the man beside her had blocked his hearing aid. She wasn't lying, though; she had a house she was going to move into.

The car pulled up inside a villa after a thirty minutes drive , Manon got down and followed Carlos inside while still trying to catch up with his fast pace "how can someone be this fast? Manon asked herself.

" welcome boss "uncle Sam greeted the moment got inside the house , he was a little bit taken aback since his young boss brought a woman back home for the first time ...

" get miss Malcolm something to eat and show her to the room where she will be staying "Carlos said and was about to leave Manon panicked immediately, did he really think she is that useless, she must look quite pitiful right now but she had to correct that look on his face..." Mr Malcolm, am really grateful that you helped me out earlier I promise I will pay you back but I don't want to stay here "manon said and that actually hurt Carlos this was his first time of trying to help someone and he was being rejected but he didn't show it nor did he stop walking, seeing that he won't stop , Manon was quick to hold his hands ...

"At least take back the hair clip " Manon said

"You promised you will pay me back earlier right? Carlos asked as he stopped in his tracks

" yes as long as it's within my power "Manon answered while still not letting go of his hands...

"Then this will be your house from now on and you can keep the hair clip if you want or you can sell it out depends on you" Carlos said and Manon was left with nothing more to say "fine I guess it's within my power" Manon said as she was about to withdraw her hands from his hands she felt his pulse and her eyes went up to his immediately and they were both lost in each other's eyes for the next thirty seconds until uncle Sam broke it..

" miss Malcolm your room is ready "uncle Sam said

" Mr Williams can I talk to you? Manon asked and Carlos signalled for uncle Sam to leave..

"What is it?

" I can help treat you if you want "Manon said going straight to the point cause she believed that the mighty Carlos Williams does not know how bad his insomnia is right now

" what do you mean? Carlos asked trying to play dumb

"Don't act dumb with me Mr Williams, you know very well what I'm talking about , this is the highest stage of insomnia you're suffering from and no one knows what will happen any time soon" Manon said with a face full of worry , Carlos was touched this is actually the first time he's seeing someone worried about him without any ulterior motives behind it but what surprised him more is how the young girl knew he was suffering from last stage insomnia, he has contacted the best doctors and they are producing the drug that can curr , maybe not cure but help out since his body has become immune to all the ones his using before...

" here's the deal , I will treat your insomnia if you agree I will live here but if you don't I won't think twice before leaving "Manon said with a very serious face

Carlos found it funny but he still kept a stern face , why was he do worried about this girl she can go any where she wants for all he care , but he instead found himself agreeing to her deal...

"Fine it's a deal"Carlos said

"Great , then I will give you a massage right away now , I should probably get changed you too " Manon said as she left with uncle Sam to her room..

Uncle Sam seeing the pure lights in the eyes of the young girl his heart softened a bit

The birthday party was dismissed earlier because of what happened leaving Megan and Jake in her room right down as she clutched to his shirt as if her life depends on it before she said with a very tiny voice..

"Jake do you think , your brother Carlos will approve of me? Megan asked because she was scared... Jake noticed the uneasiness in her voice and hugged her to reassure her,

" don't worry one of this days I will take you to see my older brother so he gets to meet you"Jake said

" what if he won't agree to you breaking off your engagement to my sister?

"You don't have to worry about that his my brother and he loves me so he will listen to me all we need to do is to get Manon to agree "Jake said and kissed Megan's temple

" I think is time for you to go to sleep, we have class tomorrow and don't think too much about it , after everything you are the one I really love "Jake said and Megan finally regained her spirit after listening to Jake's word ...

" Goodnight then brother Jake we will see in school then..

Manon took a quick shower got changed and asked uncle Sam where Mr Williams room was and he showed her, she was right on time, cause Mr Carlos just finished changing as well...

"Ehh uncle Sam can I get a cu of ginger tea if there is any" Manon said

" Mr Williams you should sit "Manon said and Carlos did as he was told ...

Within five minutes uncle Sam brought the tea... Manon gave it to Carlos to take , and he did as he was told he was even surprised at how bad he listens to this young girl he saved today is that how much he trusts her.. uncle Sam was amazed at the young girl his boss that he knows never takes ginger tea but with just one word from this young girl he did it without any objections...

After he finished the tea , Manon began her massage and in less than ten minutes Carlos was deep asleep..

Uncle Sam who was in the room with them was shocked beyond words , they have tried everything possible to get their boss to sleep but it was not futile but this girl ten minutes massage did the wonders...
