Matilda Pov
A week passed and still no one knew who leaked the recorded but Daisy wasn't mentioning anything about her parents finding out so I guessed she was safe but I didn't end up from guessing i wanted to help Daisy out cause who knows what might happen with her perverted mind of a foster father.I asked my aunt who's a journalist to research about kids who were adopted in 2009 I really want Daisy to find her real parents even if she wants nothing to do with them I know deep down she wants to know them .I couldn't ask Daisy directly which orphanage she was adopted from cause she was gonna be suspicious so I asked my aunt to ask her and make it seem like she's someone from an orphanage not specifying which one,and she managed to get the information we needed I was with her everystep .We went to the orphanage together since my aunt(Carolina) is a journalist it was easy for us to get in and actually get the chance to talk to the manager of the orphanage. We got directed to her office and that's where we met a white lady sitted on a spinning chair she looked quite old but not very old she could spin the chair that means her bones are still able to spin.
"hello ma'am,the priest directed us to your office he said we can come in"my aunt spoke causing the old lady to spin from her black leather chair scanning us with her grey sharp eyes, she stretched out her wrinkled arm pointing out where we should sit.
"sit down please"she said with a tired voice
After settling in on our site which were opposite to her aunt Carolina took out her small book and a pen ready to note down everything that might be useful
"I'm Carolina Dennis a journalist and this is my niece Matilda Dennies we came here regarding a child that was adopted in this orphanage on the year 2009 do you mind if I ask some questions?"
"you can go ahead"the old lady said through her greeted teeth entertwining her hands
"oh thank you ma'am,did you have a female child named Daisy Buck born in 2003 in this orphanage?"
"Daisy?the name is similar to the one child we once had in this orphanage, she was also born in 2003 but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same person here"
"She's black, and her mother dumped her here I believe"aunt Carolina emphasised placing her pen on the notebook
"she was black too,but her mother never neglected her actually she was a very hardworking woman she worked in a firm but her husband was very abusive and to keep her daughter safe she had to bring her here after birth, she visited everyday but when she was a month old she stopped visiting no one knew why I went to her workplace and I was told she no longer worked there I even went to where she stayed I was told they moved no one knew where, we never saw her again,so Daisy grew up without her mother, kids she stayed with got adopted but she was never adopted no one wanted to adopt her cause she was black I did everything I could to make her feel special and loved like everyone else but I noticed she was said one day she asked me about her mother ,my heart broke cause I knew she really needed a mother so I lied her mother was at work she waited at the front doors everyday waiting for her mother to come back from work but she never came back.it was summer and she waited on the front doors as always she never gave up she hoped her mother would come but something terrible happened that day I would check her everytime through my window but when I checked she was not there I went to search for her I didn't find her we searched the whole city but we never found her I was heartbroken by her disappearance and since she had left we needed to clean her room I cleaned it myself but what surprised me was that she left all her clothes and her only picture of her and her mom when she was an infant there was also a note underneath her pillow written '?'? ????? ?? ??? ????? ???? ????' I blamed myself after I read that note and thought if only I had told her the truth about her mother she wouldn't have left but again she was only 5 she was only a little girl she couldn't have gone all alone I had many thoughts.i loved that little girl a lot she was humble and very kind she loved drawing her absence left me with a big scar on my heart cause she left feeling unloved feeling different from everyone else and she left looking for her mother"a tear escaped her eyes after she was done talking. I literally cried on that moment I couldn't hold my tears I was crying real tears but muffling any sound tryna come out.
"wow, this is a very sad story indeed I'm sorry for your loss miss?"my aunt asked
"Mary, Mary Justin"
"uhm miss Mary we think we might know where Daisy actually is but we're not sure if she's the one cause she's Buck and she believes she was dumped in an orphanage and adopted by Mr and Mrs Buck in 2009"
"In 2009 there was no kid by the name of Daisy adopted in this orphanage you can check our book history"she handed out a big black book and we searched for Daisy but she wasn't there
"she's really not here this means she was not adopted here ,we could be talking about a different Daisy then"aunt Carolina sighed still glancing at the giant book with all the records of kids in the and was in the orphanage
"well since you seem to know this Daisy you're talking about you could give her this"she handed a bunch of papers"and see if remembers any of this"
In the pictures it was drawings and she also gave us a picture of a woman carrying a baby and she also gave us the note.
"Thank you so much miss Mary can I get the name of the mother?"
"Benicia Dave"
Aunt Carolina noted down
"Thank you very much for your time and the information ma'am we'll take our leave now and we'll let you know if we find anything useful"
We left the office I stopped aunt Carolina on the hallway
"How am I gonna show Carolina these "I said flagging the papers up"she doesn't even know I'm doing this"
""You'll find a way she's your friend"she left leaving me on the hallway I groaned while running after her to her car.
