Chapter 10. Eli's first shift

"This is well cooked" Eli moans as he chews down on the boar steak he's currently demolishing, I laugh. "Yea handsome over there really knows how to cook, I totally have go running days in a row when he cooks for me, or I'll end up with a butt the size a couch" I say laughing. "Really" Elis eyes light up, "yea yea you're an ass fan I know. "Agree with you on that" it comes from Brian, I roll my eyes at them. "Carefull bunny, not sure you can handle anymore punishment today Eli wink, "pfft I can handle anything you dish out daddy" I mock him. "Oh little girl you're really begging, for it ehh". He fils my plate with fresh fruit, "here busy that mouth of yours while you still are able to sit" Brian grins. "Spoilsport" I mumble making both of them laugh.

"This is nice" I say, "its been to long since we hung out for real. It's good to see you smile Eli really it is, "yeah it's been a while. I feel free, like a huge rock got removed and i finally dont hurt as much". I go quite, "I owe you both a giant apology, really, a huge one. I promise to spend the rest of our lives together, trying my best to be a dedicated mate. "We know" they answer, "what we don't know is how all this started" Brian says, "well I don't at least. "Hmm Eli says finishing his meal, this will take all 3 of us I suspect to piece together. "We will need a few drinks for this" I determine, "on It" Brian goes. "What do you fancy Eli? "Got something strong beta"? "Rum, Whisky possibly bourbon" Brian says. "Rum" we both go, "really bunny you never drank with me back then. "He's a bad influence" I whisper, "never" Brian yells from the living room. Eli leans in "beautiful you bring that out in us both, in the best way possible". He captures my lips in sweet delicate kiss, Brian just smiles when he returns. "Right here we are", he puts down 2 large jugs and pours full glasses all around. "Thanks we're gonna need this".

"I'll start" Brian goes serious, we nod. "So when your dad called me 8 years ago, asking if I would come and step in as temporary beta. I never dreamed i would end up putting down roots, I was broken after Maria past away. Empty inside to be honest, so i jumped out the door at the offer. You 2 we just teens back then, but best of friends i remember and Eli following his dad around eager to learn" Brian laughs. "Hey i was 17 at the time, preparing to make my first shift Eli grins". "Yeah an eager pup indeed" he grins making Eli growl in turn, "you were damn hot already back then daddy" I fan myself earning me chuckles and rumbling.

Fortunia finish her rum, "may i have another please this is about to require currage by any means necessary. "Of course baby you know your own limits, and you're maximum gonna get a mellow buzz of this human stuff. "So little Fort thought I was hot ehh"? Eli teases, "little i was almost 15 you meanie. Your first shift was on my birthday", she smiles at the memory of that day. "Gee yea that was a hell of day" Brian laughs. "Did you know already back then" he asks, shaking her head "no I didn't, he did though" she smiles. "Yea I did instantly" Eli confirms. "Come now Eli don't pull walls up, if I can't you can't either. "None of us can if this Brian points between us are gonna work seamlessly, for all to be happy".

"You're right" Eli says, "but yes I knew. The moment the shift was over she came barreling at me to snuggle me, I was nearly knocked out by the sweetest cinnamon roll scent". He breathes in the air, "you I just wanna eat you my sweet bunny. "Please be my guest daddy, I'll be really good for that" I tease. Elis eye flash with his wolf, "damn you seriously need to behave" he mutters. Eli shakes his head pulling back to the story. "If there was any doubt it was gone the moment she put her hands on me, the sparks rolled over me in waves almost, nearly made me pant like puppy".

"I remember Arch and I were talking that day, about you two spending most of her birthday curled up out in the sun, her feeding you snacks cause you wouldn't shift back. We were damn sure you two were mates, though we knew it would be a waiting game to know for sure. We couldn't get a word out of you on the subject, so it was decided to leave it be for the time being".

"I wanted to wait to let bunny experience it for herself, rather than being told Eli is your true mate. "Damn Eli you held that in so long 2 years is a long time for a new wolf, with half a matebond fully active". Eli looks at Fortunia, "yea she kept me waiting alright, but I just wanted her around. "I was back then, but things got pretty messed up when I finally recived my wolf". Eli nods, "Yea that night was brutal".

I winch at the memory, "man I so don't wanna take that walk down memory lane". A tear slides down my cheek, "bunny" Eli pulls me up over between them both. He whips away the stray tear kissing me, "I haven't told anyone" he says shifting me to be more comfortable. I nod, "but we probably should have. "What" Brian asks, "please you two don't shut me out. "I love you like a brother Brian we ain't gonna do that s**t anymore, I'm done hiding sneaking around gets old ya know. "Oh yes, that one i know all to well". "Shared tormentor" they growl and laugh. "Hussies" i bite back, "oh my little fluffy bunny it appears the only Hussie around here, is you! That ferocious appetite of yours, has made you our little slut right"? "Eli not fair" I yell "dont use that tone daddy" I whimper pleading. "Then start talking or we will both go bunny hunting, only this time we might split the meal understood"? "Yes" daddy I nod kissing him, Brian adds "good girl".

"So the night I shifted, Eli and I had snuck out. It was around a month before my 17th birthday and it was a really warm night. I wanted to go for a swim so I knocked on Eli's door in the packhouse and he was in of cause. "Yup he says never turn down a overheated lady in distress he laughs, also the matebond was driving me nuts". Fortunia blushes "yea didn't help we always were so touching when alone, I nearly kissed you a few days before she says. "Yea that wasn't my finest moment" Eli replies sheepishly, "but I just couldn't resist having you touch me".

Brian smirks at him "elaborate please" he pours himself another topping Eli off, "well she was staring a day after training so I just told her she could touch if she wanted. "Damn Eli" Brian grins, "yea I know. Anyway we got to lake and I realised I had grabbed my towl, but forgotten my swimsuit she says. Being a real gentleman Eli offers we could just both swim naked no big deal we know each other etc and so on".

"You two i wanna I hear this story badly" Brian says, "there's more to this I sense. "Yea"? I look to Eli he nods "go ahead my love it will be good for you to put your words on this part, "okay I say nodding. "Start with the nearly kissed him part Brian challenges, sure I smirk"..
