"Are you saying Azrail has lost his sight?" Pearldina asked while trying to hide the shock in her voice.
"Yes and can't you stop repeating after me?" Audrey's voice was laced with guilt.
"And he lost it while protecting you?" Pearldina pressed further.
"I'm sure you don't need me to repeat myself" Audrey was beginning to get mad at Pearldina's insensitivity.
"Why would he give his eyes to protect you from Lord Adonis?" Pearldina asked ignoring the hurt in Audrey's voice. "Azrail has never done anything outside of the book and had always followed instruction given by Lord Adonis. Who are you really for Azrail to sacrifice his sight for?" Pearldina didn't bother to hide her shock this time.
