Chapter 24: The Cemetery

Above the sleeping town of Deadwood laid a cemetery—Mount Moriah Cemetery, to be exact. This cemetery was practically a historical site—thanks to the burial of some of the most famous outlaws of all time. The cemetery looked over the town like a mountain lion staring down its prey. I mean, I've heard of statues looking over a town because the townspeople believed in good fortune or goddesses, but this was an odd place for a cemetery if you asked me. To think that all the people in the tiny town below would likely one day wind up here at the top of this mountain to be laid to rest for all of eternity. I shivered at the thought. It was eerie.
