Days had passed and there were nights when I wouldn't have the nightmares, survival was
getting harder and harder but at least I was gaining more experience and knew how to fight
better in my wolf form. The forest contained various types of species, some were vicious while
others were harmless.
At this point, I was fed up with eating fruits, I needed some meat, I'd stayed three full weeks in
this forest and all I had were fruits, I needed something more.
For the past three days I had been training myself in the hunting department, I needed to know
how to hunt if I was going to get meat.
"Alexa, are you ready?" I asked her.
"Freya, I was born ready." She smugly responded.
Right now, we were hidden behind some bushes, closely watching a couple of beavers playing
around. They seemed distracted, which was perfect for us.
I watched patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity and it presented itself, I pounced on the
beaver that was closest to me and captured it as the rest scurried away.
"Wimps." Alexa snorted at the runaway beavers earning a chortle from me.
After successfully killing it, I changed back to my human form, quickly wearing my clothes.
Using the wildlife skills we were taught back home, I managed to light a fire and roasted it. I was
thankful to my mother for teaching me how to cook because it came in handy.
I perfectly roasted the beaver without burning it and served myself on a plate made out of
leaves that I made. Bon appetitè, it was ready for consumption.
I diligently savored every taste and enjoyed every flavor, I moaned in delight as my taste buds
celebrated the different meals they experienced.
After finishing the mind-blowing meal, I took some rest and made a resolve within myself to start
hunting regularly.
I went back to training my body, my agility and speed had increased greatly, I taught myself how
to fight tho I wasn't that good in my human form compared to when I fought in my wolf form.
As usual, I started with physical exercises. The first were press-ups, I did about a hundred and I
was aiming for one hundred and fifty, later on, I did push-ups, plunks, squats, and the like, after
completing them I went for a swim to cool down.
For the past three weeks, this had been what I had been up to, trying to become stronger and
be able to defend myself, I also tried to find a way to get out of this forest, but it seemed
impossible, this forest was as dense as it could be, it didn't seem to have a beginning or an
end, it was pretty frustrating.
Despite all that, I kept on going, I kept on pushing and trying to find a way out, each day I
walked further and further, with the hope of getting out of here. Sometimes it became lonely but
luckily I had Alexa, she kept me sane and gave me company. Alexa was my rock, we joked,
laughed, and had serious talks and all that. I was really grateful to the moon goddess for
blessing me with such an amazing wolf, she was the best.
We were strolling through the forest when a bear suddenly appeared before us, I was still in my
human form.
It started stalking towards me and I tried to change to my wolf form but it wasn't working, what
was going on?
"This is your chance to work on your human fighting skills. " Alexa smugly let out.
"What?! Are you nuts, he will tear me to shreds." I tried talking sense into her as the bear
stalked closer and closer standing on its feet.
"It won't, if I feel a threat, I'll turn and you can fight as a wolf." She reassured me and when she
had her mind on something there was no convincing her otherwise.
I gulped as the bear lunged towards me, using my quick reflexes, I jumped to the side, it roared
getting up once more with a death at last that's what I thought.
When it came to survival one had to use any means necessary to win, I was backed to a tree
and noticed a branch that was a bit unsteady, so I reached out for it, using all my might, I
plucked it out, and without hesitating a flung it at the bear, profusely beating it with it.
I felt victorious but my hopes were soon shattered, the bear caught the branch and immediately
I let it go as it threw it away. The bear looked even more enraged, I swiftly climbed the tree and
did a backflip landing on its shoulders then quickly straddled its neck with my legs, twisting it,
and heard a c***k.
The bear with me still on its shoulders fell limply to the ground with a thud.
"You did it. " Alexa cheered.
I pushed the bear off of me, "I did, I did do it." I shared her enthusiasm and then dragged the
bear to the place where I'd spend the night. Before roasting it, I went to a little salty river just
there in the forest, and using some tools that I had made I cut the bear, roasted some pieces,
and threw the rest in the salty river to preserve it.
Later in the evening changing into my wolf form I went to bed exhausted to the cole. I had a
really long day and needed rest, I hoped and prayed that I wouldn't get any nightmares tonight
because I didn't want anything to disturb my sleep.
My sleep was going well until I suddenly felt a sharp piercing pain in my abdomen, just like
when Tobias broke the first thread of our mate bond, then I felt another, and another, and I kept
on being assaulted by excruciating pain.
I howled in pain, remembering the stories I'd been told that when a mate decided to mate or
sleep with another their mate would always be the one to pay the price as they'd experience
unbearable pain.
I kept on tossing and turning, groaning and wailing in pain, this was too much, too much for me
to handle, just when I thought everything would be better my past came back to haunt me.
Tears streamed down my face as I shifted back into my human form, it was too much, I clenched
my stomach crying the whole night as the pain kept on increasing by the minute, death was way
better than this, why was I so unlucky, why was all this happening to me, I thought as the pain
continued on.
