The wounded luna

CHAPTER 9

An excited Alexa dashed out of the cave through the opening, we landed on the ground and

were behind a waterfall. After walking around it I realized that this place didn't look like the forest

I was stuck in.

Looking at the sky, the sun was in the middle, meaning it was midday, I closed my eyes, "Thank

you, moon goddess." I mumbled.

Birds chirped flying around, the cool air blew past me and I felt alive, Alexa dashed into the

beautiful meadow, and she chased some butterflies until at last collapsed on the grass.

"That was awesome." Alexa chortled.

"I couldn't agree more."

I decided to take a bath, my body felt disgusting, licking yourself clean isn't pleasant at all.

Settling into the bottom of the waterfall, my muscles immediately shuddered at the cold air and

then relaxed after getting used to it.

I stayed there for a couple of minutes just enjoying the coolness of the water, a sigh escaped my

lips as I closed my eyes.

After that relaxing bath, I decided to find some food lest I die, my tummy was rumbling like a

dealing volcano about to erupt.

I decided to make a trap since I didn't have enough energy to hunt, picking up some sticks, and

vines, I made a trap. It took me a while but I finally perfected it.

Placing it in the middle of open space, I hid behind two trees waiting for any animal to get

caught in it.

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, and nothing, not a single animal, just

great, I sighed frustrated at my pathetic situation.

I gave up leaning my back on a tree when I heard some noises, immediately I poked my head

out and noticed that a hare got caught in my trap.

I abruptly got up, cheering in excitement, and finally some food. Without wasting any time, I

killed the hare using my claws and then made a fire, gutting it, removing its internal organs, and

throwing away whatever I didn't require.

After roasting the meat, I devoured it really quickly, in less than five minutes I was done and

satisfied.

For some reason, I had an amazing feeling about today, it was like something good would

happen but I didn't get my hopes up, because something bad always happened when I did that.

I decided to settle there for the day and would proceed with my journey tomorrow. Laying on my

back, I watched the stars twinkle in the sky with a huge grin on my face. A shooting star flew

through the sky and immediately, I made a wish, I wished for a new, fresh beginning, away from

my past.

Then I closed my eyes letting sleep take over. Once again, I woke up with a smile plastered on

my face, a sage of immersed hope thriving in me.

"Today feels like a great day." Alexa voiced out and I hummed in agreement.

After taking a bath and finding something to eat, we set off to wherever the path would take us.

We walked for a while, only encountering cute tiny animals when suddenly I could sense the

presence of people afar off, it felt like maybe there was a village of some sort.

Just the thought of that filled me with so much ecstasy, I could finally find people, associate with

them, and maybe get some new clothes because mine were ragged and torn. I scrunched my

nose as I was disgusted at just looking at them.

"I guess the moon goddess finally answered our prayers." Alexa chimed enthusiastically about

finding people.

"What do you think they are like?" I asked her.

"I'm not sure, but as long as they aren't like our old pack then they're good." She commented.

"True, I also hope that they can accept us." I put in fear gripping me, at the thought of them

attacking me for trespassing.

"Don't worry so much, no one will hurt you whilst I'm still alive," Alexa reassured me, sensing my

fear.

"Of course." I smiled at that.

"What do we have here?" A voice rudely interrupted my and Alexa's conversation.

I abruptly turned to the source of the voice, and my jaw almost dropped to the ground at the

sight before me. Standing before me was a tall man about 6 to 7 feet tall, his whole body was

toned and had muscles, huge muscles, they bulged out of his t-shirt, in addition to that, he had

blonde curls and green piercing eyes, they were captivating, his features were soft and he held

a warm smile, it was so intoxicating it made me wanna smile as well. I was starting for a few

seconds absolutely flabbergasted, was he an angel from heaven or something like that?

"Is it that you don't talk, or are too mesmerized by my beauty?" He cheekily asked.

I rolled my eyes at that, how self-centered, tho he wasn't wrong, "I was just surprised that there

are people here." I countered.

"Really," he gave me a pointed look then proceeded, "If you say so."

I nodded to the stranger, "Where are we, I mean what is this place?" I inquired of him.

"This place is called Emeraldan, ever heard of it?" He put in a question

The name sounded very familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on where I'd heard it before, "It

sounds familiar but I'm not sure where I've heard it before.

"So, where are you from, and where are you heading, if I may ask?" he looked at me with

inquisitiveness.

I sighed not wanting to remember my past, "I have no beginning or end, I have no starting point

or destination, where my path leads me is where I'll go." I responded.

"Alright," He said as he began to walk forward.

I picked up my pace and followed him, "Where are you from?" Now it was my turn to ask

questions.

"Just like you, I've got no beginning, and now I'm part of liberty." He spoke out.

"Liberty? What's that?" My curiosity perked up.

"It's the name of our pack, it's named liberty because it's where any free wolf is welcomed,

whether a rogue or a wolf running from their old packs." He elaborated.

Hearing that brought a smile to my face, "So, am I also welcome to your pack?"

His face lit up, "Of course, it's just a few miles from here."

"Then, what are you doing here?" I asked curiously.

"I came to look for a beautiful rare flower but I couldn't find it so I thought, until I stumbled upon

you. " He grinned as he said those last words.

"Really?" I raised a question.

"Yeah, now let's go, if we leave now, we'll reach by dinner time. " He summed up and led the

way to this new adventure that was awaiting us.
