The wounded luna

CHAPTER 10

We reached the village later in the evening, it had many small but modest houses all around,

and the place seemed peaceful and friendly.

On our walk we got to know each other better, I found out that the stranger's name was Luvious,

he was one of the liberty leaders, and had a little sister. Seven years ago, their former pack was

attacked and almost everyone was brutally murdered, except him and his sister as they

managed to escape, and because of that they became rogues, life was formidable as they were

always on the run from hunters and other wolves but that changed when they met Marcellus, he

is one of the founders of liberty, apparently, Luvious was severely injured and Marcellus came

across them and aided them, he later offered them to join his pack and they've been here since

then.

Since he trusted me with his past, I told him mine as well, from the beginning till date.

"Here," Luvious offered me his coat as he noticed me shiver from the cool air.

I smiled and took it, "Thank you." Putting it over my shoulders.

As we strode on, many people showered us with greetings and smiles, it seemed like Luvious

was known by a lot of people.

We finally reached the house where Luvious abode, it was at the far end, probably the last

house there. The place looked cozy, modest, and homie.

"This is me. " He stretched his arms as we reached the door.

My smile grew wider, "This looks nice, I really like the way every house has been built."

Luvious opened the door motioning for me to come in, immediately we stepped into the place,

Livious was engulfed into a warm embrace by a female blonde, who I assumed was his sister.

"You're finally back, what took you so long?" She looked up at him with worry in her eyes.

He warmly smiled at her, "On my way to get the flower you desired, I came across this flower."

He gestured in my direction and that's when she noticed me.

As she studied me, I shot her a warm smile, I was over the edge anticipating what reaction

she'd give me.

To my surprise, she smiled back and approached me, "Hi, I'm Emily, nice to make your

acquaintance."

Sharing the same enthusiasm I responded, "I'm Freya, it's nice to meet you too."

What happened next was something I didn't expect. She clasped my hand and tugged me

further inside the house into the living room, where we found a middle-aged man reading a

book, immediately he spotted us, and he shut the book, switching his attention to us.

"Has Luvious brought us a new member?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in inquisitiveness.

"Not really a member, but a visitor," Luvious interjected, finally reaching the Living room.

"Oh, well you're welcome young lady, please do feel at home. " He added a warm smile to that.

"Thank you, I'm guessing you're Marcellus." I put in.

He let out a chuckle, "Yes dear, you're very right, and what might your name be?"

"Freya." I let out.

Marcellus stood up, walking towards us, "Welcome to Liberty Freya, make yourself at home and

stay as long as you'd like to." he spoke up.

"Thank you for welcoming me." I thanked him.

"You're most welcome, I'll leave you, kids, to it, goodnight," Marcellus said as he disappeared

into the hallway.

"I hope you're famished because I've made a lot of scrumptious dishes." Emily chimed, pulling

me to the dining room to settle down.

After settling down, Luvious sat next to me as Emily dashed to the kitchen.

"Sorry about her, she gets excited about meeting new people." He apologized, feeling a bit

uncomfortable about how his sister was behaving.

I laughed it off, "It's alright, I really don't mind at all because I haven't really been in contact with

people."

Luvious let out a hefty breath, "Thank goodness, I thought she was making you feel

uncomfortable."

I shook my head smiling, Emily immediately appeared and began serving us a variety of dishes.

There were mashed potatoes, roasted beef, pasta, sausages, rice, some macaroni and cheese,

muffins and mini chocolate cake, and the like.

My stomach growled at seeing such scrumptious food. It had been way too long since I had

such a meal. It kinda reminded me of home. We always sat together for meals, every single day,

and we'd talk and laugh while enjoying each other's company, it was like our little family

tradition.

I didn't even notice that I had zoned out until Emily spoke again, "What do you think?"

I shot her a comforting smile, "This looks really amazing, I'm astonished right now. "

"Great, lemme serve you." I tried protesting but Emily was very persistent and I ended up giving

up. She made sure to add everything she cooked on my plate and didn't take no for an answer.

My plate was enormous with different dishes, I thought it was impossible to finish them.

"Bon appetitè," She graciously said sitting opposite from where I sat.

I took the first bite and my taste buds melted, "Wow, this is so good." I praised her cooking.

Beaming like a ray of sunshine, Emily mouthed a thanks.

Everything was delectable, I hadn't had such a meal in quite a while. Surprisingly, I finished

everything on my plate.

"Thank you for the meal, Emily. "

She shrugged, "No need to thank me."

After clearing the dishes, Emily tugged me into an empty room that smelled like lavender and

wood, the room was nicely cleaned.

"This will be your room." She announced.

"Really? Thank you. " I couldn't control my emotions and so I hugged her to my delight and she

reciprocated it.

"I've arranged some clothes in the closet," She pointed at the closet, "If you'd like to shower, the

bathroom's opposite your room on the left," Emily concluded.

"Thanks again," I said and she smiled, waving goodnight and going to the room next to mine.

I took some of the dresses she put in the closet and decided to take a shower. After showering, I

changed into the new clothes and headed for my room, but not before biding Luvious goodnight.

I settled on the bed, and my back relaxed on the soft surface, I sighed in contentment. I finally

found nice people who welcomed me into their homes and accepted me.

I just hoped this wasn't a dream that I'd wake up from finding myself back in the forest. I closed

my eyes, for the first time feeling safe and secure.
