Chapter 4 Dark Eyes

I opened my eyes and everything was pitchblack around me, I blinked allowing my eyes to adjust to the light shining through the canopy of leaves above.

I heard ragged breathing that sounded like a bear and my heart rate picked up, I opened my mouth to scream for help when a yelp ripped through the dark night. I shut my mouth and heard it snap closed.

I slowly looked down and I saw two giant white paws. I tried to take a step back but the paws did the same and I then realised I had a snout in front of me.....I turned my body and realised I was on all fours I began hyperventilating , what was I ? I ran and my legs ached like I hadn't moved for awhile but the feeling ran deeper as if I hadn't ran in this form and it felt right to be running like this.

I had no idea where I was going until my ears picked up the sound of a stream bubbling near by.

I followed it and approached a small stream in a small clearing, I was about to go see my self in the water but I heard a branch crack on the otherside , and that's when giant beasts emerged.

The one in front was as black as the night almost didn't see him except for his eyes which were so high up.

Behind him were 2 brown wolves much smaller in size and build but still quiet lean muscled. They were wolves, and then it hit me. I was one too!!! Was I dreaming?

It didn't feel like it , but at the same time it obviously was, this couldn't be real.

The black wolf was really a beast he towered over the others and probably me. I felt my hair pick up and begin to bristle. I felt something rumble in my chest and before I could stop my self a low growl came out. The beast of a wolf snapped his head in my direction and my growling ceased immediately. I crouched low hiding but I knew the white fur probably stuck out, I forced my heart rate to slow down. I realised my fur changed color I was a deep black color and I almost couldn't see my own paw. I heard sniffing near me and closed my eyes but it grew fainter until it was too far to hear.

I waited for a little while longer before I decided to get up(on all fours) I was about to peer out when something huge and hard hit me from the side and I felt something clamp down on my shoulder I howled out in pain and lashed out by biting back and got a chunk of fur. We finally hit ground and rolled and came to a stop. I looked into the creatures eyes and saw my own reflection, I could hear a sort of static noise come through. It sounded like someones voice I knew. I whimpered as the burn of its teeth finally registered.

I was on my side panting hard and the sharp blades released my shoulder. I looked up to see the black wolf staring down at me with a human look in its eyes, a keen understanding. It's deep dark eyes drew me in and the pain took over and I felt my bones crack as I drifted into unconsciousness again.

BLACK WOLF POV.

I knew I sniffed a rogue, but somehow this one didn't have the same stench as the others this was almost appealing. I turned to Hunter and Ramoun my beta and third in command. They were all I needed incase more rogues were near the one we smelt. We came to the north side stream that pooled before opening up into the river down south. We heard a branch break and we all tensed but saw a rabbit scurry off into clearing and into the trees on the other side. I stepped forward walking through the water and onto the otherside.

"Hunter you go more north east, Ramoun you go west sniff the little s**t out so we can get back."

"Yes Alpha, I think I heard Kaira wine! Haha." Hunter sent back. I snapped at him and Ramoun before shutting the mind link.

I was about to turn before I heard a growl low and deep and my wolf said he could feel the rogue near. I turned sniffing the ground but the rogue had not past this grass yet, I lifted my nose and sniffed the air and I smelled something and followed it, I heard soft shallow breathing and knew where it was hiding I circled around alerting the other two and when I had it in my line of sight I sprung hitting the dark wolf with all my body strength which wasn't needed since I was an Alpha stronger and better, they were weaker than all wolves in packs. I turned and bit into the shoulder and expected a rank dirty taste but what hit me was unlike anything I had ever tasted the blood was sweet like vanilla and when we hit the ground I was ontop and I pulled my teeth out stunned by the taste, I had heard the stories but as I looked down at the female wolf looking up at me her green eyes and black fur so magnificent melting away into blue eyes and white fur I nearly passed out, my wolf was raging knowing we had just took a bite out of our mate that she was probably just scared and alone.

She passed out and I saw her start to shift back her bones broke and cracked so loud I winced, remembering my first shift.

This was her first time shifting, I felt horrified knowing I had attacked her when she was really alone and had no one to show her, she probably didn't even know she was a werewolf. Her shifting took awhile, it usually did the first five times. I remember mine was worse since I was an Alpha. My dad was there for me, but my mate had no one and got attacked on her first night. I could sense the others were nearby so I told them to get the pack doctor and some girl clothes. They didn't argue but I could sense their questions lurking in the back of their mind's. I looked up at the moon asking the goddess to forgive what I did. I looked back down when the cracking sounds stopped and nearly jumped back a few feet into the air, my wolf was glad no one was around to see how the new Alpha was acting like a wimp.

I looked down at the beautiful creature laying in the long grass her arms and legs covered her private parts, I was glad so that she didn't feel violated even though my wolf was thinking up some hardcore things.

I chastised him and I felt him snicker. I shifted back into human form and untied my clothes from my ankle. When I was dressed I bent down and cupped her face turning her slightly towards me so I could see what she looked like and she was gorgeous, just like the first day he saw her and smelt her on heat. Alina Harley, the new girl at school. Her black hair was silky soft and her skin flawless except for the deep holes where my wolf teeth had bitten into her. I didn't know she was my mate until our wolf forms recognised one another hell I didn't even know she was a wolf that's why I had tried to stay away at school, we don't mate with other species it taints the bloodline.

I wanted to hit myself with something for harming her. I mind linked Hunter and he said he was near with Mr. Lock our pack doctor.

"Dress her quick Jane."I ordered my cousin who was Ramouns mate aswell.

All the men faced away while she quickly but delicately dressed my mate.

"Done." Jane said.

Mr. lock was at her side immediately.

"It would seem Alina here has shifted for the first time this full moon but it is strange it's she has sustained multiple lashes from something prior to shifting she has a nasty bump on her head meaning she passed out before she shifted and hit her head. Alpha, Hunter said you attacked this young lady so that would be your bite mark on her shoulder?"

"Yes doc. We thought we smelt a rogue but she's actually just packless ."I looked away from her bruises and bite mark.

"Well the bruises will heal like any normal humans bruises will heal and the bite mark since she hasn't shifted and this being her first time makes her susceptible to a slow recovery unlike other wolves. Get her to the infirmary where she can recover then alpha you may decide what your going to do about her situation." The doctor said and I could see a glint of understanding in his eyes. I decided to carry her to our pack ambulance which was a hightech humV (Military Hummer for medical situations).

I could feel my body react to touching her as I carried her and I was in a daze the whole way back to the pack house.

But the bite was concerning me immensely. I had to discuss this with her when she wad awake.
