Chapter 10 Truth

I walked away from Chad and felt my wolf cry out to his but I reigned her in, she hadn't spoken a single word to me since last night but she was being dramatic.

Lunch came and I got Jayde at the tree the red head stood out like a sore thumb.

"Hey girl, are you still alive? Gosh I heard you and Mr Gorgeous 2.0 had a tiff, how you know all these hotties?" She said in between bites of hee carrot sticks.

"The thing is I don't. He has an issue with me, probably that skank of a girlfriend of his." I played it down for her, what else could I say.

"Jeez thats hectic, but atleast you got Killian, he is actually such a sweetie pie he was nice to me when I was new last year. He isn't what he seems. He looks like a bad boy but actually he is a softie. Oh shoot! Please don't say I said that." She looked worried, she rambled a lot.

I laughed her off all the while replaying Chad's words in my head.

He hadn't completed the rejection process...what in the hell did that entail. The wolf thing was just too much for me. I hadn't processed half of what had happened since I learned what I was.

Lunch was nice with Jayde she filled me in on the must knows and what not. She mostly did all the talking which helped me a lot.

After school she told me that she would like to go out for a coffee or milkshake the weekend. i saidbto her I had plans but promised to make it up to her.

I waited for Killian in our usual spot, he was probably just running a little late.

I felt him before anything else, but his scent hit too hard.

"Your waiting for him aren't you?" His voice sounded hollow.

I turned around slowly.

His face nearly shattered through me but I held it in.

"I don't know what you think you know, but Chad Theseus, Alpha of the Black Mane pack, you do not know me at all. I do not care what you think, seeing as you think before asking or speaking to me. So make up your mind and leave me be. Just do the rejection completely and save us both from this basic animilistic need, cut the pain and we can both move on. I am not going to be owned by anyone, this is not the medival time where men own woman. Grow up or fix your pack views. I wish I had never met you, or became this stupid wolf. I Alina Harley reject you Chad Theseus you do what needs to be done to finish this."

The more the words flowed the quieter my wolf's presense became and the worse Chad seemed.

He finally spoke after what felt like an eternity.

"Fine...your right. I release you from me Alina, I do not hold any claim over you as mine and you may do as you wish." And with that he skulked off to his Jeep Wrangler and drove off.

"What was that about?" Killian voice came from nowhere and I nearly jumped out of my skin.

I whipped around. "You scared the living daylights outta me!"

"Sorry, I was running a little late and then saw you talking to him and thought I'd wait but it seemed to get heated. Are you okay?" His eyes were kind and caring. Just what I needed.

"Yeah I'm good I just told him off, kept bugging me so I told him I have a boyfriend and he let it go." I lied.

"Oh already flashing the boyfriend card around are we." He smiled and kissed me.

My hands automatically encirlced his neck and I stood on my toes to kiss him back.

"Now that is how my boyfriend SHOULD greet me." I smiled.

"True, now a real boyfriend would take his girl out, whatcha hungry for?"

And with that we had went on our first date and I was in a blissful dream come true.

So me and Killian told my grandfather and he was happy for us, he seemed more at ease knowing I was with someone that would look out for me and keep me safe. I had made good friends with Jayde we hung at lumch time. Everything was normal, I stopped having urges to turn and my wolf stopped making herself known the day I told Chad off. I hadn't turned again or felt the need to turn and things were good. It was however quiet. Too quiet especially at school. Chad hadn't been seen for almost a month now and no one seemed worried. I was treated coldly by his friends, they would often enough snide or bump into me at school. But it wasn't anything I couldnt handle.

Oneday at school invites were being handed out by Kiara and practically the whole school got invited to a house party and the Theseus Manor. They called it the annual eclipse dance.

Jayde said she wouldn't be able to make it she and her eccentric mother were going to Texas to visit family.

I even got an invite and didn't feel like going alone so I persuaded Killian to go with me.

"I just don't like them babe, they're snobby and highly exclusive. They treat people who are different bad and you still wanna go?" Killian was bringing it up what felt like the 100th time.

"Yes babe I do as a sign of good faith, I hardly know the poeple and would like to clear the air. I'm not a bad person in wanting that?" I sighed as we stopped in their courtyard filled to the brim with cars.

Killian was sporting a white T-shirt and black jeans, actually leaving the leather at home for once.

He climbed out and walked round to open the door for me.

"I still say you dressed it up way too much-" He stepped closer to me as I climbed out pinning me in the cars doorway. "That red lace top and tight black jeans are doing dangerous things to me imagine the others." He growled and put on that sexy smirk he got when ever he really looked at me.

I put my hand on his chest.

"Relax babe I am descent, nothings wrong with what I am wearing and you cannot keep me prisoner all the time, we need some social interaction Mr. Gorgeous as they call you." He snorted and I rolled my eyes before pecking him.

"Is that all I get before unleashing all this beauty on these poor souls." He looked at me through his lashes all sad and what not.

Laughing I grabbed the front of his shirt and he obliged wholeheartedly.

The kiss ended in me being winded as usual.

We walked hand in hand up to the open double front doors.

We were greeted by lights flashing and drinks being put into our hands. I laughed and let go of Killian needing the bathroom. I wasn't fimilar with the house so I tapped a small figure to find out when I realised it was Kiara.

"Can I help you?" Not friendly at all. She looked alittle haggard, the bags under her eyes prominant under the flashing lights. She also seemed to be crying.

"Hi Kiara sorry to bother can you show me where the bathroom is?" I asked. She smelt heavily of strong alcohol.

"Do you know what I should show you. What you've done to this pack you w***e!" She spat and walked away. I wasn't sure what she meant. I started looking for Killian but the house was getting stuffy with all the bodies. I atleast knew how to get out the back. By the pool a few people were swimming the others dishing up heaps of food. Mostly the guys.

And there on the end of the porch sat a male with 2 girls, one in each arm both giggling and feeling him up so wrong. The smell of weed mixed with alcohol was nausciating. Chad looked too skinny and haggard, his eyes seemed sunken and shallow. His expression was dead, no emotion there even though whatever he was saying made the two slutty girls hanging on him laugh.

I needed to leave, suddenly an intense heat broiled up and I knew what was happening.

I caught the eye of one of Chad's friends and understanding crossed them. He pointed to the back of yard at the forest and I bolted before I gave it all away to the human kids that were there.

Running so fast like never before I felt my chest ache for air but no pain came. I found a tree and chucked my clothes off as the fur started sprouting.

I shifted easily no pain, it was a welcome feeling. Almost like stretching in the morning after you awoke, breaking through that uncomfortable stiffness from sleep.

'Well this is what got you going?' My wolf shouted at me.

'It's you! Where have you been-'

'Don't you dare say you missed me!'

'But-"

A twig snapped near by and we growled.

"Easy Alina, it's me Hunter. I came to check if you were okay?" Chad's friend had his hands up.

I nodded.

"Good, when you've calmed turn back and then I think you should leave. It wasn't good for anyone that you came. If he had seen you..." Hunter looked away.

I nodded and he looked back to the party.

"You know my mate and lover died, his name was Paul, what you two are doing I would kill to have back." His voice shook and he walked away back to the party.

I felt a tear escape. He was right. I needed to leave.

'Yeah and probably push me back again just to forget.'

I turned back after I was calmer and got dressed. I was about to head back after I just broke through the tree line when out of nowhere I got tackled by a heavy light tanned fur bag that smelt rotten.

It rolled off me and landed a few paces from me.

It was a wolf, very fine built foaming at the mouth and growling at me. Who the hell was this?

"Look I'm just like you and I don't want any trouble I am leaving." I said raising my hands like Hunter did. But this wolf was rabid. It snarled and launched at me.

CHADS POV

I couldn't even keep my train of thought straight, being intoxicated for a month straight was taking it's toll. But all my senses including my wolf was dulled out.

I was just about to excuse myself to go pass out upstairs when the wind picked up and I sniffed.

No...

It was her, after a whole month she had finally come back to me...

I turned to see Hunter walking back from the treeline. I sniffed again as he got closer.

"Why, do you, smell like her Beta of mine." I slurred struggling to get my senses together to speak straight.

"Uh she came tonight -"

I smelt him before I saw him.

Killian. The traiterous bastard.

"KILLIAN!" I shouted.

Everthing went quiet.

"Chad I don't think this is the time." Hunter tried but Chad shoved him out of the way.

"Killian Darcy, Mr fancy Farcy. What are you doing in my house?" He stepped closer to Killian but he felt whoozy.

"I came with my girlfriend okay, I came to get her were just leaving." He didn't even look at Chad.

How dare he not acknowledge an alpha and bow with respect!

"You come into my house MUTT with my girl and think you can disrespect ME-"

Hunter and Ramoun tried to restrain Chad before he got too worked up but then a scream tore through everyone.

Chad senses snapped into place, his alpha wolf pushing out all suppresants and clear headed and focused Chad sniffed the air, three sents were prominant. One was a filthy rogue mutt, the other his mate and the third....blood.

"Get the non-residents out the rest of you with me!" Chad barked orders.

Killian started to run after and Chad let him, if she was in danger he needed all the help he could get.

They got to the clearing near the stream where a mutt was circling Aline who looked in bad shape.

"Please don't do this." She cried out still in human form.

Snapping her jaw Chad knew who it was.

ALINA'S POV

"Kiara what are you doing!" I heard Chad's voice boom through the dull ache in my head.

She had bit into my shoulder and leg and the warmth there told me she had bit deep.

She snarled at him.

"You severed the link, what have you done! Going Rogue for what?!" Chad tried to talk her down but she was fixed on me.

She slowly turned to Chad and howled a high pitch howl and she got an answer. Out from behind her stepped out maybe 20 or so wolves all scraggly looking. They howled in unison and the sound was unnerving.

"What have you done!" Chad sounded pained.

I turned away from the pack of rabid wolves to look at Chad who looked so painstakingly ill.

But behind him stood Hunter and three other guys and a girl she knew from school. They must be in Chad's pack.

But my eyes widened as I noticed Killian also standing there fuming.

"Killian?" I whispered but he heard me. He looked pained and turned away to look at the wolves nearing me.

All the lies in this place, all the injustice done to me, all this and I had never done anything to anyone. Yes I was unwanted by so many for just simply being alive but this! This was the last straw.

The tension in the air could be cut with a butter knife each side a stale mate.

I was fuming at the unfairness and the heat in my body began to make me shake. The rogues noticed and must of thought I was scared because one that seemed to be a bit bigger and in charged snickered and the rest reacted by low rumblings.

This pissed me off and I felt my wolf, she began to growl and I saw red, losing all sense and control. Something else was there with my wolf, a bigger presense, she soothed me and I let go of myself completely.
