Chapter 7: Childish (Eden's POV) The car door shut with a dull thud, the sound sealing me into the suffocating space. My instincts screamed at me to resist when Alexander’s guards had dragged me here, but I’d clenched my fists and remained silent. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of a fight. Alexander settled into the driver’s seat, his jaw visibly tight, his hands gripping the steering wheel with such ferocity that the leather threatened to give way. “If you didn’t threaten Victoria,” he began after a long silence, his voice low and cold, “none of this would be necessary.” I turned my face toward the window, refusing to meet his gaze.
