He knows

"An arranged marriage?!" Killian barged in his parents' house when his father's assistant told him that he was summoned for a dinner meeting with his "betrothed".  The maids went out of his way as he walked straight to them at the dinner table. "Dad!" "Son." his father, Giordano, acknowledged calmly. "An arranged marriage? Really?!" he shouted. "If you would shut up for a moment, then maybe you’d know what I'm talking about." Killian sighed deeply, trying to calm himself down. "Then please, will you explain to me why you think I'm going to agree to something as stupid as an arranged marriage?" he asked as calmly as he can but inside, he was seething with anger. "Killian, just listen to your father first. Please? If not for him, then for me." his mother, Catherine, asked nicely but he can hear that by his mother's firm tone, he doesn't have a choice. He closed his eyes, breathed deeply and, opened his eyes. "Yes, mother." he answered, running his hand over his face before settling it on his waist. "Are you calm?" she asked, looking him down. "Yes, I'm calm. I'm sorry. I just had a bad start today." he explained. "Oh? What happened?" Giordano chipped in. "Nothing, just had a run-in with one of the most difficult people I've ever met. I said sorry. More than once! and she just wouldn't shut up!" he blurted out and found himself pacing back and forth. "She?" Killian stopped at the curiosity of his mother's tone. He turned to her. "Yes. I accidentally got into an argument with a woman. An annoying one at that." he mumbled. "Well, none of that now. We have more important things to talk about. And yes, I am talking about the arranged marriage I planned for you." Giordano casually stated. Killian breathed deeply and turned back to his father. "Alright. Can I ask why the sudden move? Why am I being forced into an arranged marriage? What, did I do something wrong to deserve this… this punishment?" he debated. "Killian!" Catherine intercepted but, to no avail. "This is no punishment, son." his father clarified. "Really? Because it seems like it. I don't even know this girl and you expect me to marry her?" "Of course you know her, you've met when you were six and she was four." "Like that makes it better. It's been twenty years! Of course, I wouldn't remember!" "This is simply the best solution for us to have a solid alliance with Pierce's business empire." his father replied.  "What do you mean? You basically have an alliance already, you and Richard Pierce have been friends for a long time, you told me so yourself!" he argued. "That is exactly why you're going to marry his daughter. To tell you the truth, he and I made an agreement that our children would marry so that the two of us can build an empire for future generations to build on. A legacy that will go on forever." once again, Killian found himself seething. "That's what matters to you? What about what I want? Don't I get a say in this? I'm the heir to your business empire, to your company, for Christ's sake! Isn't that enough? If you needed help, Richard would have given it to you without question. You didn't have to get me into an arranged marriage. I don't want to be involved in this!" "You're already involved when you came into this world!" Giordano shouted. Killian stared at his father getting up from his chair and walked toward him, raising a finger pointed at him. "Even before you were born, I've risked everything to get to where we are now. I won't let you ruin all that I've built just because you can't take a risk. This marriage is going to happen whether you like it or not. We're meeting with them this weekend. Be there. Or else…" "Giordano." Catherine warned. "I have to go." and just like that, Killian walked away harshly the same way he walked in, slamming the door on his way out.
