Chapter 2 Monday Memories

605 Words
Monday again, argh! I really hate going to school. It's 7 in the morning, and my class starts at 10, so I have plenty of time to prepare for our Contemporary World class. "Hey guys, I'll wait for you at the Seven Eleven store; don't be late!" I messaged in our group chat. "Yeah, we all know you're the one who will be late," Kayla replied. "Boom, hahaha," Rhamil commented. "Then let's make a bet. Whoever is late will treat us to some kwek-kwek!" I suggested. "More like it. Deal!" Rhamil chatted. "Deal!" Kayla agreed too. "Fine with me!" Allen chimed in. "Get ready, guys. I'm going to win this!" I playfully messaged. "Nah-ah!" Allen responded. "Okay, guys, I'm getting ready. Bye," Aly bid farewell to us. "Same here," Rhamil added. "Me too," Kayla agreed. "Okay, guys, babush," I messaged before turning off my phone to prepare myself and my things for school. After a while, at exactly 9, I finished everything I needed to do and started walking from Camella to the Seven Eleven store where we planned to meet. It's a 20-minute walk from my house. As time passed, I saw Rhamil, Allen, Aly, and Kayla waiting for me. "Oh my, this is a bad sign for my wallet. Somebody help me, please!" "I told you, human turtle!" Kayla said with a smirk, making me pout. "I hate you guys," I said, pouting at them, which made them burst into laughter. "Let's go, we're going to be late!" Allen cut in. "Let's go, and I'm already hungry for the kwek-kwek later, hehehe," Rhamil said, rubbing his tummy, making me pout even more. "My poor wallet!" I muttered, making them laugh as we walked to school. "Guys, let's sit in the second row," Rhamil suggested. So we followed him and took our seats there. "My goodness, I didn't even review anything!" I lamented. "My goodness, Ellaine, you never review, remember?" Kayla teased, imitating me. "Do I?" I joked, looking innocently at them, causing them to facepalm. "Ellaine!" they all exclaimed, giving me a hard stare, to which I responded with a peace sign. "Just kidding, guys," I said, raising both hands. After class, we found ourselves once again at Cinco Maria's, emptying my pockets on them. They were delighted, munching on the kwek-kwek I bought for them. "Thank you, Ellaine, for being late, hehehe," Rhamil joked. "Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes and nibbling on my kwek-kwek. "Poor Ellaine," they teased, making me pout. "I really hate you guys!" I joked. "That's what you get for being late," Kayla said, laughing. "I hope you all choke!" I teased them. "Haha!" they laughed. After our meryenda, my friends and I collectively decided to walk home together, relishing the companionship and camaraderie we shared. The journey back was filled with lighthearted banter, echoing with laughter and inside jokes from the day's escapades. As we strolled along the familiar path, the dimly lit streets seemed to glow with the warmth of our friendship, creating a sense of comfort and belonging. Our conversations ranged from teasing remarks about the day's events to shared memories of past adventures. Each step we took together solidified the bond we held, reminding us of the unwavering support and joy found in each other's company. Upon reaching our neighborhood, we bid each other goodnight, knowing that the day had been filled with laughter, shared experiences, and the kind of friendship that made even mundane Mondays feel special. Each friend retreated to their own homes, carrying with them memories of the day and looking forward to the next adventure we would embark on together.
