Airin tossed and turned in her bed; the night had become late, but Airin still couldn't sleep. She thought about Taeyoon's words to Sujin during the briefing earlier. Airin took a deep breath and sat up. She looked to the door and stared at her closed bedroom door. "Why didn't he try to explain anything to me after he told me we were getting married? Is this marriage just a one-sided decision?" Airin muttered to herself. Then Airin looked straight ahead, leaned back on the bed and stared at the ceiling of the room she was in. "Is Taeyoon asleep?" she murmured again. Then Airin quickly looked at the door, startled when suddenly a knock came from outside her room. "Are you still awake, Airin?" Taeyoon asked from outside. He hadn't slept either. "Why?" Airin asked directly. "Can we talk for a moment?" Taeyoon asked again. Airin wanted an explanation from Taeyoon as well, but she didn't hesitate. She got off the bed and opened her bedroom door. The man, not very tall but undeniably handsome, stood in front of Airin with a faint smile. "Am I disturbing your sleep? Or do you feel something that keeps you from sleeping?" Taeyoon asked quietly, then looked at Airin's still flat stomach. Airin dropped her eyes to her belly as well. After a few seconds she looked back at Taeyoon and shook her head slightly. "He didn't make me feel uncomfortable," Airin replied and gently rubbed her stomach. Taeyoon, still looking at Airin's belly, smiled faintly. Then he looked back at Airin and gently took her hand. "Let's talk for a moment, there are many things we need to clarify," Taeyoon invited. "Okay," Airin replied briefly and nodded in agreement with Taeyoon's invitation. --- Mr. Kim was reviewing this quarter's reports when he suddenly remembered the incident when Airin had fainted and Taeyoon even knew Airin's full name. Mr. Kim lowered his hand holding a pen. "Why does CEO Yoon know Airin? Since when does she know important people like CEO Yoon?" Mr. Kim mused to himself. Mr. Kim, who had harbored feelings for Airin for a long time but had yet to receive a response from her, felt very curious. Then he grabbed his cell phone and sent a short message to Airin. "Could you come to my office for a moment?" Airin read Mr. Kim's short message with a puzzled frown. She waited to answer the message and looked around the office of her department. Her other colleagues had to be holding their phones. "Aren't they called too?" Airin muttered quietly. Then she put her phone down on the table. Airin got up and went to Mr. Kim's room. She was quite curious why her boss was calling her at such a busy time. At that moment Taeyoon's phone vibrated and showed Taeyoon's name. Airin had already left the division office and was unaware of it. Taeyoon sighed deeply and put his phone back on the table. "Why doesn't Airin answer my call? Is she busy?" Taeyoon wondered and stared at the screen of his phone which started to dim again. Then Taeyoon put his phone back on the table and started to check the reports of the different department heads. --- Airin fell silent when she heard Mr. Kim's question. She wasn't sure how to answer, since she couldn't possibly tell Mr. Kim the truth. But lying was also out of the question. "It seems that Taeyoon was really panicked that day, so much so that he forgot where he was," Airin thought to herself, trying to find a suitable reason to answer Mr. Kim's question. "Airin, why are you silent? How did you know CEO Yoon?" Mr. Kim asked again, pressing Airin for an answer. "Uh... well, Mr. Kim," Airin stammered, trying to answer Mr. Kim's question, her face unable to hide her panic. "Yes, go on?" Mr. Kim pushed Airin. "I just happened to meet CEO Yoon a few times at the hospital. It's just a coincidence that we visited the same hospital," Airin replied, not lying but not answering truthfully. "The hospital? Are you sick?" Mr. Kim asked, now worried after hearing Airin's answer. Quickly Airin waved his hand to indicate no. "I just had a routine checkup, Mr. Kim. Don't worry," Airin reassured him. "Oh, thank goodness. Then CEO Yoon is the one who's sick?" Mr. Kim asked, furrowing his brow in confusion. Airin remained silent and looked at Mr. Kim, who now seemed increasingly curious. "Why does he ask so many questions?" Airin thought, feeling quite annoyed by all of Mr. Kim's inquiries. "I have absolutely no idea, Mr. Kim," Airin said, still trying to keep a natural tone in her voice. Mr. Kim looked at Airin now. The tall, muscular man smiled. It was a thin, charming smile that revealed two dimples in Mr. Kim's cheeks. "Well, if that's the case, I'm relieved that you only know CEO Yoon to this extent. I feel at ease now," Mr. Kim said again. "At ease?" Airin whispered, not understanding why Mr. Kim was talking like that. --- Airin had just finished the work her team leader had to present tomorrow. She stretched her stiff body and winced when her stomach suddenly tightened. Airin hissed softly and sat down again. She took a few deep breaths to ease the pain in her stomach. "Am I tired?" Airin muttered to herself and straightened her legs. Then she shut down her computer and cleared her desk. "It's better if I go home; my work is already done," Airin told herself again. When she was done, Airin left her department office, which was now empty and deserted. She walked down the office corridor and stopped in front of the elevator that would take her downstairs. Airin's phone rang, causing the girl, who was feeling pain in her stomach, to struggle to find her phone. "Hello," Airin whispered, answering the call without looking at the caller. "You! Where are you running to, you brat? Come home! Or I'll drag you out of your office!" Someone Airin avoided sounded very angry on the other end. Airin began to feel frightened and reflexively held her stomach, the safety of the baby inside her being more important to her. "Uncle," Airin replied softly to the person on the other end. "Yes, I'm your uncle. Hurry home, pay all your debts to me! Wherever you run, I will find you, you brat!" Airin's uncle swore again. Scared, Airin didn't hesitate to finish her uncle's conversation. Then she hurried into the open elevator, her face pale with fear at her uncle's threats. "I can't go home or I'll die at his hands later," Airin said, shaking with fear. Once in the lobby of the office building, Airin ran, ignoring the security guards who patrolled and greeted her. All Airin could think about was how to get home quickly and get to Taeyoon's apartment. Airin stopped running when she saw the figure she feared the most. Yes, Uncle Airin was waiting in front of Airin's office and he looked very angry. Airin returned to her office building before her uncle could see her. Airin got more and more scared and crouched down, trembling. Airin hid so that her uncle couldn't find her. "What's going on? Why is my uncle here?" Airin mumbled to herself, then covered her face in fear. ***
