After a lot of packing, all the stuff from the apartment was stuffed into a storage unit. Two days it took me, but finally the quest was in motion. I had to find my castle before sunset. I was going through the listings, without any luck. A little confused as to why I wanted to refer to 'my castle', not 'my home', I went to a cardealer to buy a vehicle. I had to get out of the city, and the quickest way was on wheels. Fortunately 2007 Stella had some money, and her money was available for me. After all, I did look a lot like her. Getting a car and just driving away without knowing where I was going, felt strange but right. After ten minutes driving I picked up a hitchhiker, because it felt right. And how about that, this man had a cabin outside town. Perfect castle, I thought. He seemed like a nice guy, and I felt so invincible. When we arrived at the cabin, the place seemed perfect. Like a castle.
We had talked about things, but I had not told him all the truth. How could I? I needed to trust him before I told him everything. The story of me was not ordinary, and I don't think things will be more ordinary in the future either. That's why I told him that I just need a change of scenery, new impulses and new people. And he told me that he was in the middle of a horrible divorce, and he needed space. But he did not mind me tagging along. He was pretty awesome actually, funny and charming. He was not in a bad mood either, considering what he was going through. And that is how I got my first friend after my rebirth. We lived in the cabin for months, the weather was fine and we were good friends. He never tried anything s****l or harassing, I felt safe and happy with our friendship. Every day I practised my fighting skills. I did not know anything about fighting, but I felt like it just came out the right way when I practiced without overthinking too much. I ran through the forest, I jumped on rocks and climbed trees. We made a bow and arrow, actually we made several too find a perfect way to make them. And then we both practiced to shoot with them. It was really spectacular, like it was meant to be like this and we were preparing for something.
David, as his name was, became an excellent bow and arrow producer, he perfected them to the very best. And then he also became better than me at shooting while running. I was better at climbing a tree and shoot from there. It was kind of like we were the only two people left on the planet, and we were playing and practicing like kids.
The Universe was working it's magic for sure. And one sunny day, we got company. It was weird, but a girl with large hair and dirty clothes came walking in the woods. And we greeted her in peace, asking her what she was doing and where she was going. She had no goals, and she was running from her violent and abusive family.
