"Are you insane? Who the f**k are you?" Marcus asked, groaning in pain as he pushed himself up from the dirt.
"Bru-Bruce?" I stammered, looking up at him in complete surprise.
Bruce didn't even look at Marcus. He just stepped forward, his massive body completely shielding me. "Don't you ever put your hand on Kitty again. Do you hear me, boy?"
I had never seen him look so angry before in my life.
"Ye-Yes," Marcus stuttered, his face turning completely pale with fear.
Bruce didn't waste another second. He grabbed my hand in a firm grip, marched me over to his car, and opened the passenger door. He practically shoved me inside and slammed the door shut. He climbed into the driver's seat and peeled out of the parking lot.
