I wake up with a start from my sleep as I squint at the dark room.
Boom!
The sound has me jumping from the bed and running towards a cot beside my bed where Aris slept.
What the hell was going on?!
A knock on the door and Damie enters.
"Aren't you meant to wait for my reply?" I ask with my hands on my hips.
"My apologies" He says looking distressed. "There's an attack"
"Who? Drusus?" I ask even though I already knew the answer.
"Yes, get dressed. Those who can't fight are gathered in the throne room. It is the largest room in the castle and has only one entrance so it can be well guarded" He says turning his back to me.
I grab a shawl over my night gown and pick up Aris' sleeping form. It's been two days since her birth and I had locked myself in Agyris room inhaling
