    I spurred the horse towards the cavalrymen who were ready to wait on cue to move. The flag raisers and whistleblowers were on cue ready. When the drumbeat changed, I gave the samurai the order to move. The drums that sounded were the hallmark of the Ilkhanat army starting the attack.     Straw and pieces of burning trees rolled down the hill where our troops prepared.
