Collette: I take a quick cold shower, my parents won't let me use hot water because they say it will be wasted if I use it. I dress in my tattered blue shirt and a pair of shorts. they are really short and its the only pair I own. A dark washed jean look with ripped areas. I brush my long red hair, it's the only quality about myself I actually love and I head out the door to walk to school.

Carson: Today Collette and I will leave the dreadful Red moon rising pack that has treated her so badly for absolutely no reason at all. My father is the beta of this pack, and I was supposed to be the next beta for Micah. I won't have that which is another reason im leaving with Collette. My father is unimpressed with my friendship with Collette. He never let her come over to our house, he didn't want to upset the alpha and luna and their precious son Micah. I didn't care. I met Collette back in kindergarten and the moment I saw her, I knew that was it for me. She was mine. I would do anything for her. I would keep her safe. I would be her best friend if thats the only title I could have with her, I just needed to be near her. I always hoped she'd be my mate and when I turned 18 I prayed to the goddess, to make her my mate, she isn't 18 yet so I'm not sure if she is or isn't my mate yet. She's special and is my best friend. I wouldn't want anyone else but her. Collette however, it seems has only thought about me as a friend. She's worried that if she has a mate they would think like the rest of the pack and reject her immediately. The thought of her mate rejecting her p*sses me off, not only does the thought make me extremely jealous but If he did that, he didn't deserve her anyway. I wake up for school in the best mood, it's Collette's(Cole's) bday. Just like everyday for school, I walk to pick her up at her house and we walk to school together. I approach the sidewalk leading up to her door she opens the door and comes out smiling at me. That smile, the smile I chose to believe is only for me. I hug her and smell her. Hoping that her smell would tell me she's my mate. No smell yet, shucks.

Collette: Car! I hug him tightly. It's my birthday! he says, " I know Cole, this is for you." He hands me this beautiful necklace. It has a little glass wolf howling. I turned it around and it has an encryption on it. "To my best friend, I love you, ALWAYS" I hug him again and give him a quick peck on the cheek. I don't know what to say! thank you Carson, it means so much to me. He smiles at me, a smile I've known that means more but I can't take that step with him. For one, I don't know if he's my mate. Second, he's been my best friend for so long I don't want to ruin what we have together. Don't get me wrong any woman would be dumb not to fall for Carson. He's so handsome, dirty blonde hair, that showcases his amazing blue eyes that look like ice, the muscles and six pack he has. 6ft 10 inches of perfection. Yeah I've noticed. I can't change us though. I've never wanted a mate, too scared he would treat me the way the pack does. I've done nothing wrong to anyone but they treat me horribly. I wouldn't want that from someone who is suppose to love and cherish me. It would be wishful thinking to think that Carson would be my mate, but I could wish. As were walking to school were discussing our plans of leaving. There is a hotel about an hour away we have booked for us. We only got one room but, it has two beds so we will both have our own bed. Arriving to school we see the jocks playing football, the popular girls watching them. Out of the corner of my eye I see Micah, the soon to be alpha. He's talking to his little g**g of friends, how I despise them so. That's when I notice him looking at me. Micah is giving me this questioning look, I turn away uncomfortable with him looking. I say good bye to Carson as he heads towards his first class of the day and make my way to my own first class. History, what a boring class. I sit down waiting for the bell to ring when Tori approaches me. She says, " hey freak, I noticed you staring at my boyfriend earlier, what you already have Carson isn't that enough you s**t?" Tori, what are you talking about. One, I don't have Carson he is my best friend, and two I wasn't staring at Micah. She said, " your lucky because he's mine, ill be luna of this pack and you'll be outcasted from it when I take my rightful place." yeah yeah yeah Tori,now do you mind leaving me alone I'd like to get through this school day as fast as I can.
