Chapter 13Yves and Agnes decided by mutual agreement that before working out their vengeance strategy, they needed to know more about their enemy. And that to achieve this, it would be necessary for Yves to stay quite some time in Paris. But this plan suffered from one major drawback: its cost. Admittedly, their means were fairly substantial, particularly in Yves’ case. However, it would be a matter of having to fund several weeks’ observation. ‘I’ve just thought, is your cousin still a housing manager for the French National Railways?’ asked Yves. ‘I think so, but it’s just for young workers,’ commented Agnes. ‘So what?
