A mixture of emotions invaded my chest. I never thought I would ever get to own something that belonged to my mom. My family and everything that belonged to them were destroyed several years ago. Nonetheless, I kept them alive in my memories. With a trembling hand, I reached out to touch the pendant as I fought hard against the tears welling in my eyes. Sasha quickly dabbed the corner of my eye with a tissue as the girls admired the necklace.
“It is breathtaking, Luna,” Liana said.
“Yes, and it is such a special gift on a special occasion,” Penny agreed with them.
