Kaya’s pov I walked towards the house with an anxious heart. Kathy was just a human, and the worst she could do to me was scream and create chaos, alerting the neighbours. I didn’t want that, but I was there to face it all. She opened the door and welcomed me inside. I hesitated a little as soon as I saw her ever-smiling face. She was a sweet lady, and I was about to turn her life upside down. “Pete’s not in town. He travels a lot for work. Right now I think he is in Italy,” she said as she escorted me inside. “You are always welcome here, Kaya. Don’t stay in a hotel when you visit this town, okay? We have enough rooms for your entire family.” My lips pursed. It was best I broke the news to her sooner than later. “Kathy, he didn’t travel for work,” I said. She cast a confused look
