A heavy silence fell across the venue. I felt pressured and judged under the weight of everyone’s gazes. Although an Alpha having numerous bed warmers before he settled down wasn’t unheard of, I felt bad that it had happened in the past. Nonetheless, I wasn’t going to let that stop me from doing the right thing.
“She got a bit too rebellious when I stopped inviting her into my bedroom. I had to banish her. I didn’t expect her to run all the way to Wood Stone, but that’s what happened. Anyway, long story short, Wood Stone and Black Woods formed an alliance. That’s when we found out she had settled in this district, but now she has relinquished all ties with the Wood Stone and fled to the human city with her pup. This wolf lives in the human city now.”
