After the victories in the competition and the international market, Evelyn’s life was far from completely peaceful. Every day, she faced challenges from her company, family, and the market. Adrian was always by her side, assisting her professionally and silently caring for her personally.
One evening, Evelyn was organizing design drafts in her office when Adrian lightly knocked on the door. “Still busy?”
“Yes, there are a few more revisions to finish,” Evelyn replied, looking up with a smile, her eyes showing a mixture of fatigue and determination.
Adrian entered the office and placed a cup of coffee on her desk. “Have a sip first. Your health is more important than any project.”
Evelyn’s cheeks tinged slightly pink, a warmth spreading through her heart. In her past life, she might have been wary of such concern, but in this reborn life, she could discern sincerity and was willing to gradually accept this warmth.
Over the next few days, Adrian frequently found ways to care for her—reminding her to rest, helping contact suppliers, supporting her in team meetings. Evelyn also began to notice his preferences and habits, almost unconsciously. Their interactions were filled with subtle mutual understanding, tinged with a hint of testing.
One late night, after working late, Adrian stood beside Evelyn and whispered, “You’re getting stronger, but I want you to know that I’ll always be by your side, no matter what.”
Evelyn looked into his eyes, her heart fluttering, and nodded gently. “I know. With you here, I have more confidence to face the future.”
The subtle testing and mutual closeness gradually strengthened their bond. Love flowed into their lives like a gentle stream, quietly yet powerfully, laying a solid foundation for the challenges and storms that lay ahead.
