First day back at the Down Town Office and I'm late Antonio got his car towed after I specifically told him not to park in front of a fire hydrant last night, which he still did and I had to drop him off at work.
Finally made it and I walk in looking all good and fashionably late in my pin-striped pencil skirt and beige peplum top with black heels and a pearl necklaces my dad gave me for graduation. I know I look good as every man nearby has stopped to look or breaking their neck to see more.
I met with Mark Davis a good friend and my boss in the hallway of his office. He hired me right out of college as an intern and I have made him proud in several different ways, the main one is making his firm the top in New York. Now he wants me to babysit. Dear lord.... Sigh.
"Hey Hun! You’re late."
"I know Mark, Antonio had a bad morning so I helped out."
"That bum again sweetie, it's time to let him go engaged or not."
"Come on Mark not this morning, where is your new saviour?"
I said sarcastically.
"Well he is in your new office waiting, since you are so late, even if you made such a cute entrance distracting all my male staff."
He said jokingly.
Mark's a great guy. He's been like a dad to me here in New York when I moved and overall after my dad died last year. It was really hard and when I went home to stay with my mom for a few months he told me it’s no problem and allowed me to work from there. I love him a lot but just like my friends he not only hates Antonio but has threatened to fire me if I didn't dump him on several occasions when Antonio and I have argued and I was left crying and a wreck for days.
"Well let’s go and meet this amazing recruiter."
We walked down the hall laughing and talking about what we did over the weekend and how Mark's twelve-year-old daughter is driving him crazy. He and his wife are separated and his daughter chose to live with him a few months ago after his ex-wife got remarried. She's a cutie though, I should take her shopping on my next day off.
When we finally got to the office I was so busy looking around and registering the two desks and work areas set up in the nice sized room and trying to figure out if this was the right room that I didn't even see the huge bulk of a man standing by the full glass windows.
"Look who I finally found......."
Said Mark.p, but I was stopped dead as my eyes made contact with the Greek God by the windows.
The beautiful, 6 foot 2 male turned to face me and I almost swooned. He was clad in a clean-cut dark grey suit that fit him to the T. His hair was low cut with an amazing fade and well lined. From the view alone, you could see that this was a well-educated and taken care of Black Man.
All I could think was dear God save me. I was so deep in thought and lust that I hadn't realized that Mark had introduced us and the chocolate Greek God was holding out his hand to me and smiling as if he knew all my dirty little thoughts.
"Oh... Hi so good to meet you.......”
Oh dear, what is his name? I know Mark said it a minute ago.
"Jason......It's great to meet you as well Miss Graham, I've heard a lot and look forward to working closely with you."
God the man's voice, wow and the way he is looking at me from head to toe hhmm.
It took a few minutes to get my brain out of the gutter but I did it and got it working properly again.
"All good things I hope....Jason, I look forward to working with you as well."
"Glad to see you both are getting along..." Mark said staring at me like he knew what I was thinking.
Oh dear, I hope not.
"I will leave you both to become more acquainted."
Both Jason and I stared at each other for a minute then broke in unison.
"So this is the office?"
"Yes this is the first time I'm doing this but a workplace seminar I went to brought up the idea and I thought who better to try it on than my best recruiter and her new partner."
Mark said smiling.
I wanted to oppose, beg him to reconsider because I know I wouldn’t get any work done with Jason in my space, but in the end, I just smiled and watched as he left both Jason and I standing in the middle of the office.
