Episode 3: They Found Me
The black sedan sped through the rain, carrying Amelia farther away from the nightmare that had destroyed her life. She sat in silence, clutching her phone while replaying the anonymous message in her mind. He never betrayed you. He saved you.
She turned to the stranger beside her. “Who are you?”
“My name is Adrian,” he replied. “Ethan sent me to protect you.”
Amelia scoffed. “The man who married my sister suddenly cares whether I live or die?”
Adrian didn’t answer.
Minutes later, they arrived at a secluded mansion hidden behind towering iron gates. Armed guards stood watch as the gates slowly opened.
“You’ll be safe here,” Adrian said.
Just as Amelia stepped out of the car, her phone buzzed.
An unknown message appeared.
“Don’t trust anyone. They’re already inside.”
Her heartbeat quickened.
“What does that mean?” she whispered.
Before Adrian could respond, the mansion’s security alarm blared through the night.
Guards rushed toward the entrance as gunshots shattered the silence.
“They found us!” one guard shouted.
Adrian immediately pulled Amelia behind him.
“Stay close,” he ordered.
A cold voice echoed from outside the gates.
“Hand Amelia over… and no one gets hurt.”
Amelia’s face turned pale.
She knew that voice.
It belonged to someone she had trusted her entire life.
