His presence

THE ITCHING BETWEEN MY EYELIDS INTENSIFIED as I tried to see through the dark blindfold. It was pointless, straining my eyes like that, knowing fully well that I couldn't see where I was. The cold metal of the handcuffs around my wrists continued to cut in deeper. I hadn't stopped struggling to break free. My arms are sore from getting twisted behind me in order to get them cuffed against the metal chair I was made to sit on. My head was spinning, and the cut on my lips seemed to be getting shallower. I hadn't said much since I was dumped inside this room. All I'd done was try to stay strong. I knew Aeris wouldn't let this happen to me. He would come here, and he would rescue me. I could hear the footsteps that had been my company all day. They belonged to the two women who had done this to me, who had put me in this situation. The two women whose thirst to see me dead had been a driving force. I shut my eyes tight, trying to remember how this evening had turned into such a night. I have been married to the Alpha of the white claw pack, master and owner of the Alpha Line Companies; Aeris Greyhound. Aeris and I were fated and mated to each other when I was eighteen years old. I've loved him even before finding he was my fated mate. Growing up, I've had a crush on the finest Greyhound brothers. I never thought that I could ever be with Aeris. But then the moon goddess saw my heart desires and heard my silent prayers and made me his mate. Aeris was known as the two-faced alpha. He was fierce and ruthless as he was calm and professional. He was everything I'd ever wanted, and I could only wish that I was all he'd ever wanted too. The Greyhound family were known for their power and wealth. They were known to be the wealthiest and most powerful families in the entire history of Lycan werewolves. Aeris and I were two different people. While he was the most powerful and wealthiest Alpha in the whole continent, I was merely a weak Omega with a peasant background who'd only been lucky to be mated to someone as powerful as him. I loved Aeris more than I loved my own life. The night I'd discovered he was my mate, I'd just shifted into my wolf form for the first time. And I was at the ball party they threw every first of January to mark the new year. A day after my birthday. I'd only snuk into the party to enjoy the view of him. I hadn't known he was my destined mate. That night, we'd both felt the electricity, the bond. But when I told my mother, she'd warned me not to acknowledge it. I was better off without a man like him. But I didn't listen to her. Because I was so in love with him. I disobeyed my family and accepted to be with him. Suddenly, my thought was cut off when I felt the blindfold getting ripped off of my face, leaving a scrutinizing pain around my sore eyes. "Look at me!" I managed to take a proper look at the tall woman hovering over me. Screaming at me. Calandra. Calandra continued to scream about me cooperating as I drifted away. Calandra was Aeris's second mate. Two years after my marriage to Aeris, Calandra was arranged by Aeris's mother to get married to my husband. I'd never felt a pain like that my entire life. But I didn't fidget because I knew Aeris loved me and he wouldn't accept such arrangement. But to my surprise, he had accepted Calandra to be his second mate. He was the Alpha, and I had little to no say in his business. On that day, everything changed. I was thrown into the corner. My seat as the pack's Luna was taken and given to Caladra. In an instant, I was fading and rotting away. Aeris barely looked at me anymore, and for over one year, he didn't touch me. He was always busy with businesses, he'd say. But I tried to understand. Calandra was just someone he showed off to keep his underground business sprouting. He didn't love her, he wasn't sleeping with her, I told myself. "Why are you so stubborn!" Calandra screamed in my face. "You didn't see anything! You never saw anything!" Looking up from underneath my scattered hair, I spat out "f**k you." I could see the fury that welled up in her eyes. What happened next was so fast, all I remembered was Calandra gritting her teeth followed by the weight of her hand connecting to my face. I could hear the impact of her slap resounding in my ears, causing my skin to sting painfully. "You would do as i say, b***h!" She wailed. "I have called Aeris, he'll be here soon" Rhema, Aeris's mother said disgustedly from the side of the room. Yes, let him come and see the humiliation. Let him see what you have subjected his Luna to. I groaned as the pain surrounding my wrists intensified. "That’s just going to make things worse for us," Calandra said, agitated. "If she won't keep the secret, then we can just kill her!" I watched her pull a gun from behind her jeans and pointed it at me. But I didn't feel a thing. I didn't flinch. I just accepted it. I have endured all sorts of humiliation in this marriage, and if this was how it all ends, then so be it. "Put that gun away now, Calandra." Rhema called carefully. "No," She shook her head in disapproval. "Nobody must know what she knows. She can not leave here alive. Even if Aeris comes, he will have no choice but to silence her for good. I'm just doing him a big favor!" The secret..... The secret that Calandra was that was sleeping with an enemy pack's Alpha in order to help Rhema seal an alliance. Alpha Joxer was the Greyhound's sworn enemy. It was a treaty that had been coming from generation to generation. Their rivalry was sealed long ago. But then Rhema wanted ahead to open it up for her own selfish reasons, and then started working with Calandra to achieve this goal. I wonder what Aeris would do if he found out. He would finally see who she truly was. He would finally divorce her. And we would be together again. We would be happy again. I'd left the Alpha mansion earlier this afternoon to go get myself some new clothes. Before I could step out of the car and into the boutique, I saw Calandra walking out of a multi task museum, two men dressed in suits following her. I didn't recognize the men. They weren't our guards. I watched closely as they helped her get into a car that wasn't hers. I knew something was off immediately. So I did the only thing I knew was right. I followed them. I followed them through the outskirts of the city till they stopped at a red brick house with nothing but glasses around most of the walls. My eyes went wide as I saw Alpha Joxer, dressed in black tux, step out into the open, as he was talking with Calandra. I knew this wasn't their first meet because they smiled so casually at each other. The familiarity between them was too powerful. They sat on the couch of the living room and talked for a while. Then Calandra moved in and kissed him. Then, before my eyes, they started to have s*x. All this I saw from my car parked outside, the view open through the glass walls. But I messed up when I tried to reverse my car and leave, and the sunlight shone directly on my rare view mirror, reflecting directly across their building and onto Calandra's face. She looked towards me immediately and caught me. Before I could properly reverse and leave, Joxer got his men running after me. I drove for a while, tailing me. I'd sped off as fast as I could, unwilling to stop. I knew this was going to end up being bad for me. If Calandra caught me after all I've seen, she would not hesitate to end my miserable life. So i continued to drive ahead. Before i could make a sharp turn, i thought i'd seen an animal, a deer standing in the middle of the road. I hit the break too hard on impulse. Then i felt myself going in a circle as my car tumbled. The next thing I knew, my car was falling off the hill, and I'm hitting my head hard against my window, it's glasses crashed right into my head and knocked me into unconsciousness. Then I woke up to my hands cuffed behind me in a darkly lit room. I felt pains around my entire body due to the car accident. My thoughts were cut off when I felt a presence in the distance
