Nirvana tapped her manicured fingers against the phone, the sharp click echoing in the dimly lit room. She smirked as Clement Holt finally picked up.
"Clement Darling, you've got what I want and I wasn't able to get it back at the banquet” Nirvana smirked like he could see her.
“you sly little b***h,” Clement growled over the phone
“Careful now,I've got the upper hand here at the moment.” She chuckles.
“If you f**k with me, I'll make sure you never see Olivia again.”
Her voice was smooth but threatening and laced with danger. A beat of silence followed before Clement exhaled sharply.
“What do you want?”
“Your presence. At your daughter's place. And come alone.”
The line went dead before he could respond.
Thirty minutes later, Clement arrived. But he wasn’t alone.
Nirvana’s lips curled upward as Adrian stepped in beside him. Instead of irritation, amusement danced in her eyes. She leaned back elegantly, legs crossed, her posture exuding power.
“Hello, Mr. Ex-Fiancé.” Her voice dripped with mockery.
Beside her, Olivia sat slumped against the wall, tied and gagged. Her wide, terrified eyes darted between them. Nirvana lifted a knife, pressing the cool metal under Olivia’s chin with a smirk.
“Hey, look, Olivia. It’s the traitor.”
She pushed to her feet, her movements slow, deliberate. Standing tall, she adjusted her dress as though preparing for a runway. Adrian's gaze swept over her with disdain.
“Don’t think just because you’re dolled up, you’re something important. You’re still just a prisoner. A slave.”
Nirvana laughed, the sound sharp and mocking. “Oh, darling, look around. I’m a golden prisoner, and it’s better than it was with you.”
Adrian’s jaw tightened, but before he could fire back, Clement stepped forward.
“What do you want?”
Nirvana hummed, stepping aside with a flourish, revealing RAyNe seated in the shadows. He exuded effortless dominance, his piercing gaze locked onto Clement.
“Oh, it’s not me who wants something from you, darling,” Nirvana purred. “It’s my boss.” She sauntered over to RAyNe’s side, standing beside him like a queen beside her king.
RAyNe’s expression remained unreadable, but his jaw ticked as he caught Adrian watching Nirvana too closely, his eyes raking over her as if undressing her in his mind. Something in RAyNe’s chest tightened, but he suppressed it.
“I want all the information you have on the Nevada Project,” RAyNe stated evenly. “Every last file.”
Clement’s face drained of color. “Are you out of your mind?”
His voice was tight, bordering on panic. The Nevada Project wasn’t just any operation—it involved 48 foreign countries, dirty dealings between the wealthiest men on the planet. Billionaires. Politicians. The kind of people who had entire governments in their pockets.
“You must be insane,” Clement continued. “If the government finds out I gave you that information, I’m dead. They’ll have my head on a spike.”
RAyNe adjusted his tie. “Not my problem, Mr. Holt.”
Clement ran a hand through his hair, his forehead damp with sweat. Nirvana rolled her eyes.
“See, Clement, I’m on my period,” she said, voice laced with exasperation. “It’s hurting like hell. I should be resting. So let’s not waste my time.”
Adrian scoffed. “Maybe you should stay home and act like the pretty little slave you are.”
The room went deadly silent. Nirvana’s smirk faded, her hand tightening around the knife. In a blink, she was in front of Olivia, yanking her head back by the hair and pressing the blade deeper against her throat. A thin line of blood trickled down Olivia’s pale skin.
“If I were you,” Nirvana murmured, eyes locked onto Adrian, “I’d be careful with that filthy mouth of yours.”
Adrian’s hands clenched into fists, but he said nothing.
“Now, Clement.” Nirvana’s voice turned sweet, almost singsong. “Are you going to give us what we want? Or do I have to slit Olivia’s throat? Because one way or another, none of you are walking out of here alive without handing that information over.”
Clement’s breathing turned erratic. His gaze darted to Olivia, who whimpered behind the gag, tears spilling down her cheeks. He swallowed hard.
A tense silence stretched between them before Nirvana let out an exaggerated sigh.
“Okay. Your choice.”
She lifted the knife with full force.
“No! Wait! Please!” Clement shouted, his voice cracking with fear.
His hands trembled as he dug into his pocket, fumbling with his phone. “I…I’ll send the file right now. I’ll airdrop it.”
RAyNe’s phone vibrated in his hand. He glanced at the screen, the file transferring.
“Good.” He rose to his feet, exuding calm authority.
His gaze flickered to Adrian, whose fury was barely contained. Nirvana straightened, releasing Olivia’s hair, but she didn’t miss the way Adrian’s eyes lingered on her…calculating, possessive. It disgusted her.
She smoothed her dress and stepped forward, her lips just inches from Adrian’s ear.
“You and I, darling, we have scores to settle,” she whispered, her breath warm against his skin. “And I’ll settle them..with you and your little w***e Celeste, one by one.”
She tapped his chin lightly before turning on her heel, chuckling as she walked away.
Adrian saw red.
“That b***h,” he spat under his breath, his nails digging into his palms. He wanted to wipe that smirk off her face, wanted to see her beg.
RAyNe gave him a slow, measured look before adjusting his long overcoat. He turned, walking out without another word.
Gianni, who had been standing by the entire time, his gun at the ready, smirked before following RAyNe out.
The moment they were gone, Adrian let out a frustrated growl and slammed his fist into the wall. Pain shot up his knuckles, but he welcomed it. Anything to temper the rage burning through him.
Clement rushed to Olivia’s side, frantically untying the ropes. The moment she was free, she threw her arms around him, sobbing into his chest.
“I thought I was going to die, Dad,” she choked out.
Clement held her tightly, his own hands shaking. “It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you.”
Adrian’s teeth clenched so hard his jaw ached. “That b***h,” he seethed, his breath coming out in ragged bursts. “I swear to God, I’ll make her pay.”
Clement barely heard him. His mind was spinning, the weight of what just happened crashing down on him like an avalanche. His stomach churned as he stared at his phone, at the file he had just sent.
His voice came out hollow. “I’m fucked.”
Adrian turned to him sharply.
Clement swallowed hard. “RAyNe St. Trinity just f****d me over.”
A heavy silence settled in the room, broken only by Olivia’s soft sobs.
And the storm brewing in Adrian’s eyes.
"That b***h. How the f**k did she get RAyNe St. Trinity to give her such power?!"
Adrian's voice boomed through the penthouse as he stormed inside, slamming the door behind him. His rage was a wildfire, unchecked and consuming, his hands balled into fists as he paced.
Celeste, lounging on the couch in a silk robe, barely looked up from her manicure. She ran a slow hand through her freshly curled blonde hair, letting out an exaggerated sigh. "What's wrong, baby? Bad day at work?" She capped the bottle of nail polish and stood, sauntering toward him on her tippy toes, pouting.
She reached up to kiss him, but he stopped her with a sharp movement, his grip on her wrist tightening. "I'm not in the mood."
Her blue eyes flashed with irritation. "Excuse me?"
"That b***h. Nirvana. She actually seduced RAyNe St. Trinity?" His voice dripped with venom as he shoved a hand through his hair, pulling at the strands.
Celeste’s expression darkened. "I told you. I told you that b***h was capable of anything. She’s a snake, Adrian. You should have let me deal with her when we had the chance."
"You think I don’t f*****g know that?!" Adrian exploded, throwing a cushion across the room. "She had Olivia tied up like a goddamn lamb for s*******r, a knife at her throat, and she.. " His jaw clenched. "She was enjoying it. Like she was born for this shit."
Celeste folded her arms, her lips curling in distaste. "And RAyNe? He let her play executioner in front of him? He let her call the shots?" Her voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "She must be f*****g him."
Adrian's nostrils flared. The thought made his blood boil. "I won’t let her get away with what she did today. That b***h thinks she’s getting bolder? It’s time to remind her who's still running this f*****g show."
He pulled out his phone, fingers moving swiftly as he sent out a message.
"Who are you calling?" Celeste asked, her voice sharpening with curiosity.
"A little insurance. If she wants to play with fire, let's see how well she burns."
Celeste smirked, draping her arms around his shoulders. "Mmm, I love it when you get ruthless. What’s the plan?"
Adrian tilted his head back, exhaling sharply. "First, we need eyes on her. Every f*****g move she makes, I want to know. Second.." His phone buzzed in his hand. He glanced at the screen, smirking. "...we hit her where it hurts."
Celeste’s eyes gleamed with interest. "Tell me more, baby."
Adrian sat down, pulling Celeste onto his lap, gripping her chin so she met his gaze. "If she’s under RAyNe’s protection, then we have to be careful. But careful doesn’t mean weak. It means smart. And it means making her wish she never crossed me."
Celeste grinned, running her nails down his chest. "Now that's the Adrian I know and love. Ruthless, powerful, unstoppable."
Adrian smirked, but his mind was elsewhere. Nirvana had just started a war, and he was going to make sure she suffered every step of the way. But his mind also drifted back to how f*****g seductive she had looked in that dress.
A sinister thought crossed his mind.. he was going to f**k and it'd be brutal.
