Chapter Six: Diamond and Emeralds

His hand took mine and brought it to his lips, kissing my knuckles one by one. Before I knew it, he's sliding a gold band around my ring finger. It is a simple diamond ring covered in small emeralds.

"Will you marry me, Anri? Because I'm so in love with you that I won't let you leave my side even for a second. I love you so much, it hurts. So, please, out me out of my misery and make me the happiest man alive."

I started to sob while looking at my engagement ring. I kissed his waiting lips and locked him in an embrace. "It's crazy that you have to ask. Of course, I'll marry you. You know I love you."

"Oh, firecracker. I hate seeing you sob like this." His voice cracked a little and I saw tears flooding in his eyes.

What did I do in my past life to be this lucky? Did I unknowingly saved the world? Did I sacrifice anything significant in this lifetime? Because I don't know why everything seems to be falling into place. I will forever be grateful for this.

Cassian lifted me from the pile and gently removed hay from my hair and body. I did the same to him and we dressed up immediately before anyone can see us.

He brought my left hand to his lips and kissed the engagement ring there. "Where do you want to celebrate?"

I beamed at him. I really wanted to treat him to a restaurant dinner but I'm afraid my finances are still suffering from me buying a house. I don't want to let Cassian spend more money on me. He has bought me food and books and I think that's enough. I know that he owns the house next door but he said that it is technically his parent's house and that he's managing their businesses for a living. I want him to save up his money for our kids in the future.

I dragged him towards his house and he just laughed because of how eager I am to drag him inside.

"I guess we'll have a sexy celebration for my firecracker."
