Flowers From James Miller

Bella´s pov

 ”Bella honey the breakfast is ready to come down and eat with us.” mother shouted. 

”Coming, give me 10 min,” I respond 

I got out of my bed and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower and put on a light blue dress, then went downstairs and sat with my parents at the dining table and ate breakfast.  

”How was it with your shift in the hospital, you came home late yesterday,” asked father with curiosity. 

”Mm.. there were many patients in the emergency room so we had work pressure,” I replied with a stressed tone because this is the first time for me to lie to my parents, but it was a white lie so my parents don’t worry about me.

”Did it go well in the emergency room, where there were any serious injuries,” asked mother.

”Yes, we managed it and helped many of them but I was very tired and my shift time was done so I come home and the doctors can manage without me in the emergency room and the good thing is that there were no serious injuries, I also want to say that I had my first serious surgery without any help from any doctor yesterday and it went very well, I am so happy about it,” I said 

”OMG, I'm really happy for you honey, and at the same time proud of you,” said my mother with a happy tone.

We continued to eat breakfast and after that, I helped my mother with the dishes then went up to my room and took out my computer to finish writing the assignment from the university teacher and drinking a cup of green tea.

I wonder what happened to the guy who did his surgery, if he got better or not, I hope he is doing well.

The cell phone ring and cut me off my thoughts. 

"Hello... ”I answered

”Bella it’s me, Emma I call you from the hospital reception, you have got flowers from a person with a card on it, ” said the nurse on the phone.

”Oh.. can you please read the name on the card.”

”Yeah, of course, wait a minute… it’s from James Miller and there is a phone number too, I think it’s his number,”  answered Emma 

”Okay you can put it in the changing room next to my looker, and thank you, Emma.” I said before ending the call

Omg, why can he just forget everything and let me be? 

With worry in my heart, I did not wait and called Laura my bestie, also my childhood friend. 

I called Laura, and we decided to go to the cafeteria to chat and at the same time study a bit.

After half an hour, Laura called me to get down to her where she was waiting for me in her car outside in front of my house door.

I put on my shoes and took my bag and books and rushed out of my room downstairs.

”Where are you going like this fast honey, you do have your shift late today, ” asked mother.

”Yes I know mother, but I am gonna go now because Laura is waiting for me outside in her car and we will go to the cafeteria and study there together with a little, after that she will give me a ride to the hospital to attend my shift so don’t worry mother.” I went out to my bestie Laura.

”Hey bestie,” shouted Laura from the car half-open window.

”Omg, hey Laura I have missed you so much.” I shouted back with a happy and excited voice and got in the car.

We drove to our favorite cafeteria and sat down at our favorite table which is next to the window with the best view of the different colors of roses. We checked the menu to order something and then we ordered the same thing, our favorite chocolate cake with coffee. 

”What has happened, Bella, your face gave me different emotions at the same time like stressed, irritable, scared, and worried today, have something happened at your home or hospital,” asked Laura with a worried and curious voice.

”Wow all these emotions are on my face at the same time,” I asked with a laugh.

Something happened in the hospital yesterday and I lied about it today to my parents when they asked me why I was late, you divine not how scared I was and you will not believe me if I tell you what happened to me yesterday in the hospital…”

I told everything to Laura and that one of them named James Miller sent me flowers today and how I am scared of them and don’t wanna see them again but they do not let me be especially that guy James Miller.

Laura was shocked and sorry for me and wanted to help me with what I wanted help with and she will ask the train responsible and ask them about changing her shift times as my schedule is from 13:00 to 20:00. So we will be together in the shift time so I won’t be worried about those guys. 

We had fun together and helped each other with our tasks but then it was half an hour before my shift began in the hospital. 

Laura gives me a ride to the hospital. I rush in the changing room in the hospital to take my overclothes but then I saw a big bucket of red and white roses and there was a card on it so a took the roses and wanted to throw them in the trash but then I was caring them and dropped something from it, it was an envelope that the nurse did not see, there was written on ”to the doctor”.

I opened the envelope and start to read it

”Hey doctor I hope you like the roses, it was nice to see such a beautiful doctor like you and helped you with the surgery for my brother, I know it sounds crazy, I hope you are fine with it, that I send you flowers to the hospital and don’t be angry with me. But I don’t know where you live, so I sent it to the hospital. I hope you are doing good today after everything you went through yesterday and we are sorry for this. I am sorry for giving you a bad first impression about us but we are good people but I was scared and worried about my brother. I hope you can understand what I meant, also forgive me and open a new page so we can be good friends in the future. 

James Miller / the guy who helped you in the surgery and hugged you ;)”

I was surprised because when I finished reading the envelope I was smiling. I spend my phone and send a message to him and said.

” I accept your apologies and thanks for the roses”.

 I removed the card and walked out of the changing room to the reception and gave the roses to the nurse who was sitting there.

”You can put them on this table, they look nice here and smell nice too, it helps the patients who walk through here will be relaxed because it smells very nice and attractive.”  

”You have the right darling, thanks for the roses,” said the nurse with a warm smile.   

I went to my first patients because I had 3 patients. The first one he was an old man, he was 64 years old and had a heart problem so he comes to the hospital once time every week to check his pound, then I went to the next patient, she was 18 years old and had injured her foot and had the surgery last week but everything is going well with her now. The last one he was 53 years old he had bacteria in his blood so he stayed in the hospital for 4 days and we gave him antibiotic medicine, also now he got better and the bacteria procreant got lower in his blood.

After I was finished with the patients I had a lunch break and sat with my two friends in the hospital restrung. Jessica and Elena, I have met them in the hospital, also they are students too but from another university and they are one year older than me but we are in the same class because I was very smart in the school and had an A in all the subjects so I get up one grade. So I am 24 years old and my friends are 25 years old. It was our last year at the university, the girls were very nice, sweet, and kind and I like them.

”Hey Bella come sit with us we have booked this place for you, ” said Elena 

”Oh.. thank you girls, how was your day?”

”It went good but tomorrow don’t forget we have to attend a heart surgery, I am so worried and at the same time excited because you know it is our first time to see how they do surgery to a heart,” said Jessi

”The same here, I didn’t forget about it, Jessi..”

We finished our lunch and got to go to work. 

I went to the reception to see where I must go. There was a woman who was panicking so I went to the pregnant woman who was worried and stressed, she cried so much and screamed so I helped her to calm her panicking down until her doctor came. Then I went to the emergency room,  also started to help the other doctors and the day ended quickly.

I got home and was very tired, I went up to my bedroom, took a quick shower, and changed into comfortable clothes. 

I get I message from James 

”if you have forgiven me then we can have coffee together as friends, tomorrow :)”.

”Yeah we can do it but with my friend”. 

”Okay then I will see you girls at 12:00 o’clock, bye doctor”   

After I went down to help the mother with setting the dining table for dinner. We ate dinner and talked about how the day went. After dinner, I rushed up to my bathroom and did my business and brushed my teeth then went to my bedroom and lay down on my comfortable and soft bed after all the work I went through. I watched my favorite program on the phone until the sleep took over me and I slept in peace.

But suddenly my cell phone rang and it was Laura.

”Hello Laura what happened,”  I answered with a low voice and worried tone, and close eyes.

”Hey Bella guesses what happened today after I drove you to the hospital,” said Laura with a high voice.

”I talked to the trainee responsible personal and asked if I can change my shift as the same time as yours and they accepted and said that I can work with you from tomorrow, so I think I will come at your place tomorrow and have lunch with your family and then we can go together to the hospital,” said Laura 

”How are you kidding right, I can’t believe it, she accepted your request, what did you say to her that she was convinced about, it will be great, I will see you tomorrow.” I Said with my sleepy voice.

”I said to her that I have to work at night at a restaurant so I can’t come to the shift at the same time..”

”Then I will see you tomorrow Laura, I said and ended the call then I slept back with a happy feeling because I will work with my bestie together.”

The next morning I woke up earlier and called Laura to tell her for our meeting today with James Miller in the cafeteria. Because I was tired yesterday and forgot to inform her. First, she was surprised, but then she was more excited than me. She comes to my house at 08:00 o’clock and when I opened the door she just rushed to my room with many bags.

”Omg I will meet the guy who had a crush on my bestie,” said Laura

”WTF did you just say, no way Laura we are just friends or will be friends after today,” I said to her.

”I picked up my nicest and sexiest dresses I have so we will choose which of them we will wear”, said Laura 

”Omg, now I am excited, you know what I like bestie,” said Laura with a smirk.

We went downstairs to eat breakfast with my family.
