Whenever I lay in bed feeling low, feeling a rush of negative emotions, I just yearn for my fathers hug, and since I can’t get it that time, I just pretend I’m cuddled in his warm hugs and I immediately feel the rush of negative emotions being replaced by a massive wave of love. All Fathers provide comfort, the only difference about my father is that his comfort is as comforting as a comforter can ever comfort.
Keeping his balance on us, he made us an all rounder just like him; best retinal surgeon in East Africa, my father. Chairman of tabligh committee in ksij Dar es salaam mosque, my father. Chairman of the scientific committee in COECSA, my father. Medical director of Dr Agarwal, my father. Prestige member of the community, my father. In my 16 years of life this is what I have witnessed him as, if I only I can achieve half of what he as achieved I can proudly say that I am my father’s daughter because as hard as it can be, he has taught me that anything is possible.
After everything that we do, the disappointing behavior, the tantrums that we throw, and all the days that we made his days hectic, yet everyday he still looks at us with a warm smile and a comforting hug.
Zappy and lively as always, he never fails to make anyone smile, be it when we are down, or when we are stressed.
Instead of only telling us and giving lectures on how to shape our hereafter, he showed us how to. He didn’t just tell us to be a good community member, he is a community leader. He didn’t only tell us to study hard, he is determined in any work he does. He didn’t just tell us to be patient, he is patient with us.
Mindful is My father. Sometimes our beliefs are questioned, but somehow when we address them to him, his answer just blows your mind because of how intellectual he is.
You know there are those fathers that make their daughters feel like a queen, there are some that make their daughters feel like prisoners, but My Father makes us feel like our true selves, a believer of the most perfect set of beliefs, Islam.
