Kiara's Point of View
Logan and I have been dating for the past six months, and I couldn't be happier. He is the perfect gentlemen and respects the fact I don't want to have s*x till I am married.
Since I got out of my last class of the semester early, I decided to surprise him with lunch. As I pulled up to the law firm Logan works at, I noticed his car and smiled. Sometimes he has lunch meetings with clients or court cases, and today he appears to be in the office. The only thing that shocked me was that only two cars were in the parking lot. Either way, I'm sure he will be happy to see me.
As I walked in, I heard a sound I never wanted to hear. Moaning and the sound of furniture moving. As I walked down the hall, my heart fell. The s****l sounds were coming from his office.
I put the food down and turned the nob on the door. With my heart pounding, I opened the door and saw my boyfriend pounding into a redheaded woman that looked like his secretary.
As I gasped, both of their heads turned and looked at me. Yes, it was his secretary, and she smiled. I wanted to vomit.
With tears running down my face, I ran to my car. I could hear him calling my name, but I didn't care. We were through. He wasn't the man I thought he was.
As I got into my car, started it, and began to back out of the parking spot, he ran out of the building with his boxers on and his shirt unbuttoned. He was screaming my name, but I just drove away.
After five minutes of driving, I turned into a taco bell parking lot and parked my car. I screamed at the steering wheel, hit it, and began to cry. My phone began to ring as I cried, and I grabbed my black purse on the seat next to me. I pulled my Samsung LG stylo 3 phone and saw Logan calling. I hit the f you button and then blocked his number.
I will not be with a cheater. As I cried for several more minutes, I pulled myself together and called Ava.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Aves," I said as I sniffled.
"Kay, what's wrong?" She said with a gentle tone.
"I walked in on Logan and his secretary," And I began to cry again.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry."
"Yea, me too."
"When did you find out?"
I looked at the clock on my radio and said, "About twenty minutes ago."
"I am so sorry, Kay. I know you really liked him."
"I did, but apparently, he liked his secretary more."
"You going to be okay?" Ava asked. I know Ava isn't the best at comforting people, but she always listens.
"I need to break the news to my parents. They loved Logan like a son."
"Do you think he would show up at your house?"
"Absolutely."
"Dang."
"Okay, enough talk of him. How is the baby?"
Ava and Tyler announced at their wedding seven months ago that she was pregnant. She is due any day now, and I can't wait to find out if I will have a niece or nephew.
"Ready to have this baby. I am not effaced or dilated, and to be honest with you, I have no more room to stretch. I think my stomach will rip open before the baby comes."
I chuckled as I heard Tyler say, "Stop saying that. You will not rip in half, and our child will come when he or she is ready."
Apart of me was jealous of what Ava and Tyler had. True love. Yes, I am only twenty, but I want that. Someone who loves me with their entire being.
I have been on so many dates I am starting to think no one out there is meant for me.
"Earth to Kiara," I heard Ava say.
"Oh, sorry."
"Tyler said you should come down here and spend the summer with us. You can help me with the baby and just have a break from life. We will even buy your flight ticket."
"I'd love to," I said without thinking about it.
Ava and I talked for the next half an hour in the taco bell parking lot. She booked my flight for tomorrow morning at eight in the morning. Someone from the ranch would be there to pick me up. After we got off the phone, we hung up, and I made my way home.
As I pulled onto my street, I could see my house, and Logan's car was there. I decided to call my dad so he could get Logan to leave.
"Hey honey, what's up," My dad said as he picked up on the second ring.
"I need you to call mom and tell her Logan needs to leave."
"Why?"
"I caught him and his redheaded secretary having s*x on his desk today."
"What the F*CK!" I heard my dad scream.
"Ya, he is at the house right now. I can see his car. I blocked his number, and we are done."
"Don't worry," dad said, and I heard a door slam.
As I looked at the house, I saw my dad's blue truck in front of the house, and he was angry. I watched as he walked up to the house, and all of a sudden, he hung up the phone as he walked in screaming.
I didn't want Logan to get hurt, but I also didn't want to be near him. How many times had he screwed her and then kissed me or told me he loved me. I thought he loved me, but he didn't.
Logan ran out of the house and quickly got in his black ford escape, and took off. I waited several seconds and pulled up to the house.
When I walked into the house, my mom came up to me and hugged me. "I am so sorry, honey." She whispered.
My parents and I talked about what happened, and I told them about Ava's offer. They agreed that I should spend the summer there and just enjoy myself. My dad said he would take me to the airport, and after we talked, I went and packed my bag.
I woke up at five in the morning, and by six, I was at the airport. As I looked at my phone, I saw Ava had messaged me last night.
Ava: Caleb will be there to pick you up. I can't wait to see you.
"Fudge," I said as I put my phone in my pocket.
