Chapter 4Not only had they watched the sun set, it was about to rise again by the time Melissa got home. Oh, she’d pay for that later, but her happy endorphins got her to work and clocked in just as morning report was starting. But after that, with Courtney off that day, the hours dragged and it was all Melissa could do to stay awake. One of her patients was transferred out to receive ECMO treatments at another facility, and her remaining patients were reasonably stable.
