Leaving her car in the hospital parking lot overnight was becoming a habit. But following their delicious meal at the restaurant, relaxed by the wine and conversation, the last thing Melissa wanted was to go back to the hospital and drive home alone. It wasn’t just a physical thing—there wasn’t that option anyway—though there was no denying the attraction between them. Melissa truly enjoyed her time with Courtney. She was educated and worldly and an entertaining conversationalist. Hours flew by as they sat sipping their wine, subtly turning their heads away from one another whenever the mask had to be moved, until the restaurant was finally closing and they were forced to leave.
